Are all these "upsets" this year a good thing or bad thing for college football? Personally I think its a great thing that anyone can have a chance in a sport, I'm glad its not just the same 5-10 teams each year with a title shot, but i want to here what others think. Without a playoff system in place, is true parity in college a good thing?

It sure makes things more exciting, but I think there is going to be a lot of fuss this year about how the best 2 teams didn't necessarily play in the Title game because of the parity and the lack of a playoff system. This would certainly be the ideal year for a playoff format with so many similarly talented teams with similar 1 loss records.

I think it's a great thing. For the favorites, it's a reminder to kids that they better be prepared for every game, regardless of opponent. For the team that pulls the upset, it's a reminder that with hard work and determination, they can achieve anything. In one day, a great lesson can be taught about overconfidence; and a rare reward can be had by a group of guys unaccustomed to the feeling of winning a big game.
Its a good thing when upsets aren't expected. This year Im not surprised who the hell wins. This year the instability is a bad thing

I love it. But if I was a fan of a perrenial powerhouse, I might not. I do think it makes for a much more exciting season, since there are few, if any, cakewalks, especially in conference play (and not just in the SEC either). I don't think a playoff solves everything, either. As crazy as it is this year, you could have some excellent 2 loss teams that might not even make a playoff field (4-8 team playoff), that could win it, if they got in. Florida would be a prime example.

There might not be any SEC teams with less than two losses after this crazy season is over. This will probably end up being a real BCS mess at the end of the year and hopefully will be what's needed to get a serious look at a playoff system being started. We can only hope......
