Well it's that time again... who will be the top 10 teams to get tossed this week? Oh no, things aren't about to stabilize... in this crazy season of College FB, did you really think that we'd start to see things calm down in October? Hardly. Every week so far has produced at least one big upset, and this week will be no different. The victim(s):

#15 Virginia - travels to NC State to play the Wolfpack who currently are winless in the ACC. I don't have any big statistical reasons for this pick, but my gut tells me that Virginia is leaving this one with a loss.

#9 Kansas - will visit Texas A&M who will pose only the 2nd real challenge the Jayhawks have seen all year. With wins over teams like Central Michigan, SE Louisiana, Toledo, FIU and Baylor, the only 2 decent opponents Kansas has faced are Colorado and Kansas St, and those teams are a combined 8-7. Now they go up against the Aggies, who are 3-1 (6-2 overall) in conference play and coming off of a PUMMELING of Nebraska. The Jayhawk's won't survive this trip to College Station.

#7 West Virginia - goes on the road to Piscattaway, NJ where it will face the team that spoiled South Florida's NC hopes. If the Scarlet Knights can put away the Bulls at home, they can put away the Mountaineers (who have shown to be one-dimensional this year).

And of course,

#4 Arizona State - welcomes #21 Cal to Tempe, but will probably be wishing they hadn't been such congenial hosts by the time the game is over. Cal is coming off of 2 consecutive losses to unranked teams and will be pissed off. Arizona State doesn't know how to act like a team that belongs in the top 5 and it will show. Important to note: ASU hasn't played a single ranked opponent yet. It has the 4 best teams in the PAC-10 coming up next. The Sun Devils will lose to at least 2, the Bears being one of them.

And there you have it, 3 more top 10 teams will take a tumble this week.

I agree with Texas A&M and Cal winning. I don't know enough about Virginia or NC State to make an accurate prediction on that one. I'm not sure Rutgers can pull off two upsets like that in a row, but I would love it if they did.

Well my last upset pick of the week was UCF over South Florida, so I decided to make 4 this time to increase my chances of getting one right. :D And like I said, I don't have much faith or reason in the NC State pick, just a feeling that Virginia is going to get beat on the road this week.

Pretty solid picks, i wouldn't be surprised to see BC fall to VT either.

Yeah, those are some pretty good assessments. I also don't know enough about Virginia to make an educated guess. But, I did see NCS play one game this year; and if I had to judge on that one game, I'd say Virginia should kill them. I agree completely about Cal and ATM. I'm not so sure about Rutgers getting over on WVU. I'm really hoping they pull the upset, but my head is saying it won't happen.

I was surprised you didn't have Georgia over Florida. Those are pretty good picks. I would be happy if they all happened, and they all are plausible.

That's partially because Georgia over Florida wouldn't really be an upset, with UF at #11 and UGA at #18, and it being a rivalry game.

The other part is I don't like making bold predictions on big UGA games... feel like I might jinx them.

You must have tried it 15 times since 1990. Maybe you should have quit doing that sooner.;)

I can't see the NC State one happening. They couldn't beat themselves out of a wet paper bag. Although, UVA is coming off a somewhat big win for them. I guess it's possible, but UVA would have to play really really bad.

Virginia scored in the last second to beat Maryland. They've done that a lot this year. A win is a win, though.

Virginia has a terrible passing offense. If NC State can shut down their run, then they have a very good chance at winning.

NC State also has a history of ruining ACC team's title hopes.

how about boston college going down... but they are both in the top 10

I agree with all of them except the Virginia game. I would replace that game with the BC and VTech game having VTech take them out. After all, #2 hasn't been safe for the past few weeks.

#8 beating #2 isn't what I would call an upset.

Technically, any team beating a higher-ranked team is an upset...

Don't count out Penn State maybe taking it to tOSU this weekend. The Buckeyes have never played that good in Happy Valley especially at night. Ohio State 21 Penn State 13

Cal has been surprisingly exposed, I thought they were very strong.....I think they regroup and win more easily than some might think...

WVU is strong on the ground, too lazy to look up how USF is against the run so if they are a little susceptible there look for WVU to use field position and clock to win this game in a low scoring affair, perhaps WVU 17 USF 13

Virginia vs NCState is as unpredictable as Ole Miss vs Miss State so I will go with the upset since it is at NCState

I think KS gets thrashed by ATM, with A&M racking up over 300 yards on the ground

as far as the SEC, I think w/Georgia's woes at RB, that Florida wins by at least 10

What woes??? We have our best runningback at 100% and our powerfeul fullback at 110%. We might be missing two others but one never really started to play and the other was getting more and more phased out of the game???

There's no such thing as 110%

it makes a big difference for obvious reasons IMO, an injury to Moreno smells bad plus no one else to shoulder the load so his effectiveness in the 4th quarter might be diminished

but I will be pulling for the Dawgs, fo sho

#7 West Virginia plays Rutgers this weekend, not South Florida. #10 South Florida plays #23 Connecticut.

I see Rutgers having trouble getting back to back wins over top-tier Big East teams and I think Slaton and White will take it to Rutgers, although I hope they get upset. I also think that South Florida will bounce back strongly and put up a pretty impressive game against an overrated Connecticut team.

oops.....but like you I'll stick w/WVU even though Rutgers matches up well with them

I don't think Connecticut is overrated....I've been watching them for the last few years start to rise from nothing, they are a very old school strong physical team, wouldnt surprise me to see them beat USF

I certainly wouldn't mind if either of those teams lost, but I don't think it will happen. I sure hope I'm wrong, though.
