Who would have ever thought at the beginning of the season that this Thursday night game between two mid-major schools woul have such a huge impact on the rankings and even possibly the National Championship?

If USF wins tonight their chances are great that they will run the table while the teams ranked around them have a lot tougher road.

A win by Rutgers tonight and USF is exposed and all th teams around them start talking about playing for the title. It would open the door for teams like South Carolina to move a step closer to that brass ring.

I am not counting on USC playing for anything at this point, but I do like to see the team's ahead of us and even those close behind us lose in order to help us when/if we do win.

Nothing would be more frustrating at this point than for us to win and no one ahead of us lose, thus us still not make it to the Title game.

BTW, someone is quick on that trigger of moving this to the Big East forum. While I understand these two teams are not in the SEC, the point of this thread is that it does have a huge impact on the SEC...... i.e. Kentucky and South Carolina.

Is this thread a duplicate, or a whole different topic?

I'm glad we don't have to play either of those two. Both teams were so fired up, both players and coaches brought more energy than I've seen lately. All that energy did lead to a lot of penalties though.

Rutgers 30
USF 27

That clears one more spot in the top 5.
