With week week 7 bringing Auburn into town, talk at this time of year should be focus on the game with a SEC opponent. But instead attention has been turned to the protester of Houston Nutt, with their wearing of black shirts, to renting aircraft to pull their banners high over head for all to see.
This really is a slap in the face to all football fans. Having a small group that wants their spineless voice to be heard at all cost. They can't simply stop going to Razorback games and stop spending money on their events to show their displeasure, no no no. These worthless bastards want their 15 seconds of fame, and why not at the cost of ole Houston.
Now listen up. I have figured it out. I've often said that implants, to the states work force in a growing northwest Arkansas is to blame. I want to go a bit deeper with that if I may. Not all folks moving into the Natural state are rebel rousers. these negative thinkers are only a few. But they are trying to spread a virus throughout the state that will grow in huge numbers.
Arkansas and Kentucky are the only two schools in the SEC that don't have to compete with either pro sports, or another DI school in it's state. Kentucky, being know as a basketball school for the past several years, doesn't fit to these formula IM about to explain.
I have reason to believe that forces outside the state, posing as Arkansas fans is trying to disrupt the Arkansas program. By claiming they are protesting Houston Nutt, in fact they are attacking the long term recruiting for the Razorbacks down the road. By doing this they feel they are making a name for themselves and doing a service for the institution from which they received their degree, being Tennessee, Alabama, LSU etc.
IM surprise we don't see it more, but it's a perfect receipt here in Arkansas due to all the attention given in state to the Razorbacks. The next guy whom ever it may be and whenever, will have to endure the same suffering as this staff has at Arkansas. As we all know. No true Hog fan would ever go to the measures these assclowns took Saturday in Little Rock. And having spokesmen coming on talk radio, and sounding like a Jim Rome clone by saying "War , firing Houston today, War we will be at the Auburn game with more planes and more black shirts"
Show your faces, or stfu.

So you think UT, LSU and Alabama grads are conspiring to take down Houston Nutt? Come on TD, thats kind of far fetched, IMO. Let me ask you a serious question TD, with Nutt's record, wouldnt most of the fans of other SEC teams want him to stay? Sorry, I dont really buy into this, there will always be some fans who stand behind their team and coach and there will be fans who dont. I hate it for you guys, mainly because I know how you feel. There were alot of mixed emotions in Alabama about Shula too.

I wore a black shirt, I planned on donating, but forgot to, and am a season ticket holder.
Also, my family as a whole has been large contributors to the Razorback Foundation.
I feel free to speak badly about him.

Read the post. Your are missing my point. Im not saying Tennessee, Alabama or LSU are behind this, those are examples. Jezzz. It's not all about Nutt and getting rid of him. It's doing the damage with recuriting and other things.
And for god's sake, Lets understand one more freaking thing.....Lousiville is indeed in KENTUCKY. Jesus god, thanks for pointing that out.

The thing that gets me about the HDN idiot protesters is that they are killing the Arkansas program for the next 4-6 years, when Nutt is far out of the picture. What kid wants to go to a school where fans don't support the team (players and coach), and the fans are fickle to the point where a sucessful season doesn't mean anything? It's insane that the Hogs did so well last year yet folks can't rally around that?
I have a message from a true fan (not fair weather) for all you 'fans' that wear black shirts to games and support the plane banners: Guess what...we get it already; you don't like Nutt. Regardless of how this year turns out he's gone - if we 'turn it around' this year he's going to go to a better environment and give all of you the finger on the way out. If we have a bad season he'll be fired. Either way he's gone. quit crying about how you don't like his coaching and support the kids that are working their butts off every day to win. Have you considered how they like playing in front of fans that are ready to boo when we run up the gut 3 times in a row? Do you think the o-line appreciates that? What about D-Mac, Felix, Hillis, etc? Calling yourself a 'fan' and behaving like a crying schoolgirl re: Nutt is a huge contradiction.
Bottom line, get over yourselves and start supporting the kids - they chose to come to Fayetteville and represent our state with their best efforts. Don't punish them because you disagree with Nutt's style...like I said, he'll be gone soon.
And one other thing for the crybabies....can't wait to hear you're whining the next 5 years or so when we are at the very bottom of the SEC and can't beat the cupcakes on our schedule because we can't get good recruits in the door. Who you gonna blame then?

Geneology is a tuff skool subjekt.
I don't feel like it's people that are moving into the area that are the problematic fans. It's our own homegrown retards from Arkansas. It's mostly people that can't think for themselves, and will listen to whatever their neighbor, brother, step brother, third cousin, sister/wife says, factual or not, and will be willing to jump off a cliff with them.
Most of these retards think that the program, or Broyles, or Nutt, or whomever they are made at is doing it as a personal attack at them.

Nolan got canned for saying Broyles was a racist, but Nutt stays even after calling the fans slaps, etc... Also, failing to win an SEC title in what 9 years? Plus running off Mustain, Williams, and Gus didn't help his cause. I've said for a while that he's worn out his welcome.
Thanks for coming in and making us competitive, now move on so that we can get a coach in here that can lift us over that hump. <----- I say this b/c Nutt always tries to lower expectation when talking to the media about having a great season, while coaches like Spurrier say we're going to win period. NO MORE EXCUSES!
I do think that some fans have went a little to far, but nothing else has seemed to get the attn of the hill. I don't blame it on outsiders either, it's just a new bread of fans. I think every school not only in the SEC, but in the Nation have their fair share of crazy fans.

But the way they are doing things is getting attention from more than just the hill. Plus, what were they supposed to do? Fire him after winning the West? What kind of coach would go into that envinronment? The AD had already stepped down, and most people assumed that if Nutt didnt have a good year this season he would either step down or be fired. Now because of some idiot fans the recruiting is gonna suffer and its gonna be a lot harder to bring in a great coach. I can hear the coaches now" Wow, they got an opening at Arkansas. I would go down there...but Im not too fond of having banners flown proclaiming how bad I suck after losing my first two conference games. Much less when Im one season removed from winning the West."
Now the whole program will suffer...and all because of some fans who wanted to get someones attention:thumbsdow

You've got to be kidding me....comparing Nolan Richardson's situation to Nutt is ridiculous. Nolan was more than racist, he was openly commenting that he was wanting his contract to be bought out and that he was dissatisfied at Arkansas. Despite what you think about Nutt (and I'm not a big HDN fan but I can tolerate him), through all of the BS he has been put through he has handled it with as much class as I can imagine anyone would have in that situation. Nutt continually proclaims his love for Arkansas and the Razorbacks...do people forget he's home grown?
Has Nutt had some missteps? Sure, what coach hasn't? Does he deserve to stay head coach? I would argue that if this season turns out well, yes. In his 9 years, he's had some rebuilding time and has had some great recruits come through - and if you think about it, if Arkansas had some fan support (instead of those that fuel the drama) and do well this year he could probably get some good recruits in given the success of the past few years (including this one if it gets better). But again, how many kids are turning away from Arkansas due to the drama fueled by the 'fans' and media? Quit crying about Mustain and Malzahn - players leave and coaches change all the time due to conflicts...they aren't just as widely publicized as this one was cause 'fans' couldn't let it go.
The Hogs are in big trouble in the foreseeable future; we'll be at the bottom of the D1 barrell for a number of years. Remember how difficult is was to get a decent bball coach? Guess what, no good coach in their right mind would step foot in Arkansas for the next 5-8 years. Besides the 'fan' fueled dramatics, our AD will have to prove himself at Fayetteville before a quality head coach commits. I'd rather have more years with Nutt than a high school coach new to college football, which is about what we'll get next year. And forget about any offense with our backfield and receivers going away - I wouldn't be surprised if there is a mass exodus of most of the players to transfer to a new program next year...all because of our glorious 'fans'.
It makes me sick,......

the irony is that the coaching fraternity think Nutt is one of the best coaches around saying he gets more out of his players than most coaches could........he does sneak up and win the division here and there but can't seem to quite get over the hump.....you guys have some of the best facilities in the conference........im kinda twixed as a fan w/an opinion but I would keep him if he won at least 8 games this year, modify his contract to shore up recruiting and keep pluggin away

I'd rather have a bad year of recruiting with a new coach than Nutt coaching another year. This program is officially done if Nutt comes back. And next year, with no McFadden, I'll be shocked if we average 60,000 fans a game. Most of the fan base is officially sick of his crap.

Wow. I go away for a weekend and look at this thread!
Well I too can't see the correlation of Richardson and Nutt. Richardson did more than just go off about wanting out. He also directly insulted Arkansas fans. I can't remember the exact quote but I remember being very disappointed in him and he lost my support that second.
But at this point, maybe Nutt leaving would be a good thing. Then the wunderkind who forewent six months of their beechnut budget to put up the flying banners will shut up. Maybe the stain-bearded yokels will go back to building the stereotype that I have to continually explain isn't the majority of my home state. Maybe we won't get Jack Crowe or some other brain-rot addled schlep and we can can avoid a series of 3-9 seasons.
Now don't think I am a "Nutt Worshiper". I still think he makes bone-head calls in games and seems to not be able to judge his quarterbacks very well. (That or every QB behind C. Dick is just marginally more talented than a tackling dummy.) I don't think he is the gunslinger coach he used to be. That's how he made his name at Boise St. Crazy calls and, gasp, a passing game.
Well at least all the pressure is off. We won't make a bowl game (and don't deserved it) and McFadden shouldn't win the Heisman. I still love the guy and he could play for ten years as the UofA and I would still hold my breath every time he touches the ball. But the Heisman winner can't get the door shut in his face. Whether you are facing Auburn's defense or not. Yeah. Sure they can slow you down. But if you are one of the great ones, you find a way. I still think he's one of the best ever. But I hope he comes out ticked off the rest of the year and tears it up.
So does anyone think the basketball team will be any good....

Jeez Smithian, quit crying about those guys!!! I think you mention those names in every post you put up. If these guys are your heroes, you must be a big Tulsa and USC fan now. Get over it....coaches and players move around quite a bit when things don't work out - sure Nutt may have had some missteps, but do you think these guys aren't culpable at some level? were they choir boys and didn't do anything?
I didn't mean to say Nutt is holy, just that it's pretty amazing how he has handled the constant bulldozing and microscope criticism. He's definitely gone next year so you'll get your wish....and btw I do agree it's time for him to go.
And don't be naive to think we're talking about one year of bad recruiting. From the kids perspective, there is no way they would go into a program with the local fan and media suport (or lack of) that has been displayed after a 10 win season. We will not be able to compete for recruits with other Big 12 or SEC teams for about 3-4 years. I also wouldn't be surprised to see a number of current players leave for other places next year. I'm hoping we can get a decent coach and can make some progress over the next 2-3 years and win some non-conference games and 1 SEC game. We'll be competing for next to last in the west in the next few years.
My only point is that the black shirts and plane banner 'fans' think they are helping get rid of Nutt, but he doesn't need the help. Those demonstrations just hurt U of A's rep in the national media and are strongly considered when the recruits are making their decisions. These folks are shooting our program in the foot.
But, I've been a Hogs fan all my life and will continue to support them regardless of how bad they are!

Fan base is split period. I'm not living in Arkansas at the moment, but from what I hear, Nutt's getting a lot more critisism this year, than in years past by the media.
