After a sluggish 3 game start resulting in two losses, Brandon Cox has AU back on track. Cox is 44-62 for 527 yards (2 TD’s – 1 INT) in AU’s current 3-game winning streak. Cox’s performance the past 3 games is much more reflective of his career rather than the first 3 games. Even as poorly as Cox played in the first 3 games, he did lead a late 4Q, TD drive vs. K.State to prevent AU from starting 0-3.
Vandy brought in some eye-catching stats in to Jordan-Hare on Saturday. Vandy was 2nd (only to LSU), in SEC defensive yards allowed. But Brandon Cox engineered TD drives on AU first 4 possessions to give Auburn an early 28-0 lead. Cox made Vandy look like well - Vandy. I think it’s clearly evident now that Vandy had played a very weak schedule before the Auburn game. Prior to the AU game, Vandy had played only two SEC opponents. One of those opponents were one-dimensional and the other could be considered as - zero dimensional.
Brandon Cox was quoted after the game, "It sure feels good to have the fans base support back behind me after everyone was spitting on me after the S.Florida game".
