In the past couple of games, I have not been impressed with Dixon's style of running. Aguy that big has no excuse to be running outside the tackles. I do not know if it is the play calling or if he is scarred to run it into a crowd. On the other hand, Ducre has really impressed me with his ability to break tackles and his speed on the edge.

I was just wondering what other insights yall might have on this or if I am totally wrong.

I'd stick with the man who's getting the job done. Dixon.

trust me it is the play calling....ducre looks better because 90% of his plays are on 3rd and about 5 or longer so there are only 5 or so people in the box when dixon runs more on 1st and 2nd when there are 8 or 9 in the box...they are both very good backs but i would stick with dixon right now....

I would definitely stick with Dixon as the starter and main back. He's a very good running back and has the potential to be great. He's so powerful. It's amazing to watch him push through for more yards. If we can kept the defenses honest with a decent passing game, Dixon can rack up yards.

Ducre is great too, but I don't think he could handle Dixon's load as well as Dixon does. I think part of Ducre's success is the mix of Dixon and Ducre. Get the defense used to Dixon, then let Ducre rip up through the middle for 5-10 yards.

Both are great backs though. Both need to improve. They are the backbone of this offense.

I ran against Ducre in high school (he went to my rival school) and for a guy his size, he has incredible speed.

All good points, I really need to see Dixon break a couple for forty + to say he is as great as everyone thinks. The play calling does suck, but our passing game sucks even worse. I would like to see some play action pass to get one on one matchups on the corners. I have not seen a play action pass yet that I can recall.

well bad42, you're going to get what you asked for....croom announce that ducre would be the starter this week....in the interview, croom brought up the fourth and one that dixon didnt get in the south carolina game and put him down pretty bad.....when dixon told the reporter he thought croom was trying to light a fire under him, croom came back and said something again about the 4th and 1 and then said dixon had to decide himself when he wanted to become a "great" back....now i understand trying to light a fire under someone but its not like dixon is running bad....he is the sixth leading rusher in the sec while trading time to ducre and has six TDs....i hope this is the right decision by croom but i just think benching your workhorse on a homecoming game that the third string QB is starting is not the right time.....because croom is going to do some experimenting thrwoing the ball a little more with carroll trying to get him ready for the tenn game which means less carries for dixon and ducre....i still think they are going to run a lot but it just seems like questionable timing and reasoning since croom kept referrring to the 4th and 1....

I agree Carwwest, I don't think I would be putting down one of the best backs in the SEC because of poor play calling. I've watched that play a few times and I think it would have taken a miracle for him to get that first down even if he would have run the right hole. I hope Croom is just trying to fire up Dixon because if he pisses off one of his best players, that will lead to a lot of fans getting pissed off.

yeah we definately dont need our OFFENSE (cause him and croom are the only things we have) mad at our coach and unhappy...im not saying croom needs to baby him but i dont think he has done bad enough to get benched.....

Hopefully this means it worked. Croom takes away his starting spot, and immediately Dixon has the best game of his career. Either way, looks like we got a good result out of it. I haven't heard it mentioned, but I'm sure Dixon is starting again against TN.
