Coach Tubberville said today that Blackmon will get to play this weekend against Florida, He's probably not going to start but should be able to get in and contribute. This is huge. We really need him if we hope to contain Tebow. As he showed us in last years Florida game, he is the type of player than can really make a difference. We'll still be short Merrill Johnson though. From the reports I've seen he will probably be out at least a couple more weeks. Also, Tristan Davis is back at practice and could play as well. It looks like this team is starting to get a little more healthy.

Good, we need every playmaker we can get.

Good news. But why the hell is he not going to start? Blackmon is an absolute beast.

BTW I had this feeling last year before the UF game when nobody was giving us a chance. I have that same exact feeling right now. It's going to be a close game. WAR DAMN EAGLE

Maybe the strategy is to get a fresh Blackmon against a more winded offense. Could that really work two years in a row? I'm sure Blackmon's adrenaline will be through the roof since he hasnt played in 3 games and it seems like he actually could have in the last 2. I really want to see somebody (anybody) just put Tebow on his back one good time. I dont think anyone has done it since he's been at Fla, and since he's bigger than most of our d-line it might not happen Sat either. Man it would be nice if Groves could get the sack record and clobber Tebow at the same time!:biggrin2:

Hell yeah! Nothing would soothe me more than to see Groves laying Tebow out to dry. That would give him second thoughts on every single play.

sorry guys, but it happened last year. florida state's de(timmons i think) put a very nice lick on him....and tebow helped him up after the play.

not saying he will not ever get hit hard again, but he isnt going to be scared to run the ball afterwards.

also, the spread on this game is -18......if i wasnt a uf fan, i would take auburn with both hands.

I'm thinking that LSU might tune him up a bit.:chair:

Have to question Blackmon's health. Like to think if he's a 100%, he'd be starting this Sat. I understand the "waiting to play him against a winding offense" theory but the way I see it, we want him on the field as much as possible.

Can't forget Chris Evans. Dude has been playing lights out filling Blackmon's spot.

No, he's just been out with an ankle injury.

The great thing is that some guys have really filled in the gaps on defense. I agree we want him on the field. I think he could have played in the last two games. I'm sure he will play alot but like you said his backup has been playing lights out so how could you really bump him from the starting line up?

I went to high school with one of Blackmon's cousins. And the guy and one other player on our team let us down by quitting school. Blackmons cousin could have atleast been a RB on a D1-AA level but he chose to quit trying.

If I am correct, hes the guy that caused that big Chris Leak fumble last year that pretty much won the game for Auburn

yeah..pretty much the difference in that game was blackmon and the pressure they put on Leak. I didn't thing AU had a chance after the first half but thier D stepped it up a notch. They will have to do that X2 to have a chance this year....possible but not likely

Wow, we have been through this a million times. WHO CARES! The Blackmon play was a big play but like it or not, the blocked punt followed by the Tre Smith flip' was the difference.

I just hope there is a Tray Blackmon play this Sat. night.
