I feel like i'm the only one here these days! What are your feelings about the upcoming Fla game? Is everyone just ready to get it over with or are you excited like me to see our youngsters take on the Mighty Gators in the Swamp? Regardless if we lose, lose BIG, or steal one on the road (guess those are the options that the masses are giving us:sad:), this team and young line will be that much better for the experience.
WDE til the wheels fall off and beyond!

* Auburn will be playing Florida for the 82nd time, which is the third most of any Auburn opponent behind only Georgia and Georgia Tech.
* Each of the last three meetings between Auburn and Florida have been decided in the final minutes, with Auburn winning two of the three.
* Auburn's last win in the Swamp came in 1994, when the Tigers upset No. 1 Florida 36-33.
* Auburn has 21 players on its roster from the state of Florida.
* Auburn has won eight of its last nine games against teams ranked in the top 10 of the Associated Press poll, including four in a row.
* Auburn's last win against a team ranked No. 4 in the Associated Press top 25 poll was a 38-35 victory over Florida in 1993.
* Auburn has won its last 12 games when wearing all white uniforms dating back to the 2004 season.
* Auburn has won six straight SEC road games and 12 of its last 13 games against SEC teams outside of Jordan-Hare Stadium.
* After committing 10 turnovers while forcing just one in the two previous games, Auburn forced six turnovers and committed just one against New Mexico State.
* Auburn started four true freshman on offense against New Mexico State, and has played 23 true and redshirt freshmen this season.
* Of Auburn's 115 points scored this season, 91 have been scored by underclassmen.
* Auburn has outscored its opponents 41-16 in the second quarter this season.
* Junior WR Rodgeriqus Smith has hauled in Auburn's three longest pass receptions of the season, including two for more than 50 yards.
* DE Quentin Groves needs just one more sack to equal the Auburn career record of 26 held by Gerald Robinson (1982-85).
* Tommy Tuberville needs just two more victories to become the fifth active coach in the SEC with 100 career coaching victories.

Don't worry, your not alone in here. I've posted a couple of times about our game in the Swamp this Saturday. This is going to a really tough way for our youngsters to get their introduction to a SEC road game. With the youth on both teams, there is no telling how it will turn out. Most (but not all) of the posts I've seen from the Gator fans seem to form the consensus that Auburn isn't a worthy opponent for Florida. We'll just have to wait and see if they are right or not. I do think Auburn matches up much better than anyone else they have faced thus far. It won't be easy by any stretch of the imagination, but Auburn can win this game.

The following are the only posts I have made regarding the Auburn game:
I think this game could be alot closer than people think. That said, it's completely up to Auburn's defense, because Meyer will have the boys ready to avenge last year's loss and the game is at 8:00 in the Swamp. If Auburn's defense can come out and shut up the crowd quickly with a few quick turnovers, they have a great chance to make a game out of this one.
I'm more than a little concerned about this game for a few reasons. First off, Tray Blackmon and a few other players are coming off of injuries, very similar to last year. Secondly, the conservative offensive playcalling is exactly what we don't need and can't afford to have against a good team. We definitely need to get back to spreading the ball around and having Caldwell and Cooper back should definitely help. The main thing that concerns me is Auburn's defense coming up with a big play defensively early and taking the momentum.

Thank you 13. I had your posts in mind when I added the caveat "but not all" to my statement concerning the posts for our upcoming game. I believe I even reped you on one of the two.

No problem. I have to say that I'm worried because I haven't heard anyone around campus talking about Auburn, all the talk is about LSU in 2 weeks. That scares me almost as much as any team Auburn could field against us.

That could be a problem if that talk has infected the team. Wile that is somewhat possible considering the youth on your team, I think Meyer will keep most of that stuff in check. I do think Auburn has a substantial advantage in that Auburn has much more to prove to themselves and the country. Also, Auburn has much more to gain from winning this game than Florida. Even with all that, I still think it will be very difficult for us to win. The main thing that gives me a since of guarded optimism is that Auburn has a way of winning when no-one thinks they can.

Good to know that Im not alone! And I have read posts from both of you two about the game. Thanks 13 for your fair and balanced posts concerning the game. Honestly, I could handle a loss or even a blow-out loss if we just run into a UF team thats simply head and shoulders better than us. It would drive me nuts to lose because of careless turnovers and dropped passes. I hope that we have gained a tad bit of confidence this past week and at least play a good game. Hey WE73, do you think AU will open up the play book more this week since we're such an underdog and dont have as much to lose?

I think they will open it up and then some. One of the main reasons Tubberville got the nickname of "riverboat gambler" was his penchant for takings risks back at his days in Oxford and the early days in Auburn. The reason why he took such risks was because back then most of the time he was a big underdog and had nothing to lose. He used that to keep his opponents off balance. I see no reason why he won't do it again.

Well other than the fact of me being banned a few times, I'm still here. ;) With that aside, I think AU has a better chance to win than most people think.
My hopes are up but my money's not going down.

Why did you get banned?
I was simply telling people to stop being pussies and boo Cox when he's doing bad. This lets Cox and the coaches both know that we need a sudden change... or it will just continue.
Please don't come on here and make us look bad.
OH GOD FORBID I LOOK BAD IN FRONT OF MY INTERNET FRIENDS!!!!!2  :thumbsdow
Most people should get a life. It's nice.

I think this comment is pretty much right on the mark, but I expect Meyer to be prepared for everything Tuberville throws at him. He'll be looking for that onside kick midway through the 3rd quarter.

I wish LSU had not pulled out that fake field goal on USC last weekend. That was a Tubberville classic. He ran the same exact play against LSU in Death Valley a few years back with the same results.

War Eagle to all! I'm still here, I've just been traveling alot the last month. Like most of the AU guys here I'm dissapointed w/ the season but still can rally around and support my tigers. I said prior to the season that I felt we would pull off the win in the swamp this year, but since that time my faith in what I thought would be our strength (senior QB & excellent defense) has proven false. I still think we have a good / not yet great defense, but I need to see some drastic improvement in Cox against SEC caliber opponents before I heap any praise. Will we win Saturday? Probably not... but I still have a funny feeling about this game. We'll either win it or we'll lose by 4 touchdowns. Lets hope and cheer for the win.
At this point I think AU has a chance to salvage a decent season (7-5 maybe if we can win a tough SEC road game & beat bama in Auburn) and in the process develope some of our very young players so we enter next year in a favorable position. In the meantime I will remain a Auburn fan whether we win or lose. War Eagle!

Excellent post. that this a good attitude to have. I agree with your thoughts on the game. The odds are mighty long but I think they can win.
