Watching first take the other day i was watching the first and ten aspect and they were debating the trick play LSU ran. One of the commentators was very critical about the trick play LSU ran in the win over USC. He went on to say that there should be a limit to trick plays becuase its just a cheap way to score points.
This comment made me sick. Trick plays can eaither be huge in points and emotional gain or they can bomb and completely ruin the morale of the team. What was everyones opinion on the play. I thought it was one of the best fake field goals executed ive ever seen. The behind the head toss was incredible. Should the trick plays be banned? Should LSU be getting negative publicity over this what i thought amazing play? Should they be limited? Or are the medias comments just stupid?

That was one of the best fake FGs i have ever seen. Not only was it a no look, over the head toss, but the kicker was the one that ran it in. As for limiting the number of trick plays, that is ludacris and whoever said that didn't see the look on SOS's face after his team got scored on. He was almost laughing.

They have limited trick plays before. It's why you don't see the Fumblerooski anymore. That was a great call by Tom Osborne though.

I'm not a violent guy; there's only a few people that I'd like to beat senselessly. And Skip Bayless is one of them. What's your rationale for NOT liking trick plays? If they don't work, only the coach takes the blame!! That was the weakest debate I think I've ever seen on TV. They totally lost the irony that it happened to Spurrier. Hell, even SOS forced a smile.

My only problem with it is that the holder's knee is down from the start of the play. Shouldn't he have to keep his knee off the ground?

Then every FG and Extra Point would be dead once the holder assumes control of the ball.

That was a pretty lame debate. Had to have been one of the best plays ive seen this season. The trick plays give teams opportunities to win and also can ruin a ggame if it goes too wrong.

I liked the one where Holliday hid behind the offensive line to. It was just plain funny.
Also, one trick play back fired for LSU when they tried a flea flicker and threw an interception.

That was one of the best fake FGs I've ever seen.

I still think Boise State Statue of Liberty was better.

Nothing in the SEC could ever be the best could it?
I really wonder if you are an SEC fan.
I am not saying you need to believe this was the best play ever to be an SEC fan, but I haven't seen one post from you that actually awards the SEC for anything.

The statue of liberty play by boise st was awesome, not only because of the type of play, but because of the balls it takes to use that play in that situation of a BCS bowl game.
But, I do agree, I can't remember seeing BamaFanNKY say anything good about the SEC.

I was in the East Upper deck at that end of the field when it happened and while the replays are cool, seeing it happen at game speed, in person does more credit to how fast the play developed and slick of a play it really was. Heck, my wife was watching the play beside me, but she had to watch the jumbo-tron to actually see what I was trying to explain that just happened.
As far as limiting trick plays, that's absolutely stupid. And besides, wouldn't a screen be considered a trick play? You trick the defense into thinking they blew past the line for an apparently easy sack only to find out that they got suckered.

The fake FG in Tiger Stadium looks oddly familiar to me.

one of my favorites to pull on video games is run the half back out for to receive a pass and scramble out with a mobile QB. then the DB's break coverage and hes usually wide open

Bama hasn't used a single one yet, and here I thought Coach Applewhite would have quite a few up his sleeve. Maybe we might see one or even two this weekend?
