I take all the SEC teams over the out of conference teams. In the SEC, it is Florida over Auburn, SC over MSU, Georgia over Mississippi. I like TN in thier bye.

Auburn has no chance against Florida; they get walloped.
Alabama could turn the tables on the Seminoles, but not likely.
Vanderbilt should have no problems, but Eastern Michigan is no patsy.
Arkansas could have trouble with North Texas, but probably won't.
Kentucky is a sleeping powerhouse as they showed in Arkansas.
Ole Miss might give Georgia a good game, but they are worn out from Florida.
Mississippi State is definitely no patsy; could upset the Cocks.
LSU should roll at will in the Dome.

I'm going with the favorites, except for UGA. I think Ole Miss is hungry after the close one last week. If the game was at Ole Miss, I wouldn't even think twice. MSU could give USC some trouble. F$U is still a pretender... look for Saban and Bama to bounce back. UK will continue to impress, and Woodson will pad his Heisman resume. Arky and McFadden will do the same. Vandy is much better than their recent history, and even that's usually good enough for the likes of E. Michigan. And, what will be left of the underdogs in the Swamp and the Dome wouldn't fill a thimble.

Actually, the favorite in the Bama/FSU game is FSU. I was kind of surprised when I looked and saw that FSU is a 3-point favorite against Bama. I would have thought it would have been the other way around.

It'll prove that it should have been the other way around before it's all over with. The Semenholes are impotent.

No argument from me. If I was a betting man, this would be one of the games I'd lay some cash on.

Two bar districts near USC are 5 Points and The Vista (The congaree Vista).

In 5 Points the crowd is mostly college age, and there are all sorts of bars, restaurants, and some live music, all within walking distance. It tends to get pretty raucous late at night, especially when USC wins.

In the Vista, you see a more diverse crowd, but still saturated with USC students. There are great places to see live music, all levels of restaurants, and lots of bars, all within walking distance. Get a ride to either area and just get out and walk around till you find what suits you.

I personally recommend the Vista, which has more of everything. You can get pretty wild either way you go.

Hope you enjoy Columbia.

Judging from your vcash total, you might want to reconsider your stance on betting. Just kidding... I can't stomach the thought of frivolously throwing away hard-earned money, either. I just can't bring myself to risk it, even though I'd have made a small fortune last year. I called most of the games (FB and BB) last year in casual bets with friends. I don't even like risking my monopoly money (vcash).

I usually only do football pools, the NCAA basketball tournament, etc., with friends for a few bucks. Nothing that will hurt too bad if I lose. No serious gambling for me, especially since I've got one son is college and another who won't be far behind. Also, the times I think a game is a sure bet, I usually end up scratching my head when the result ends up turning out 180 degrees different than expected (which happens quite often). I hope that doesn't happen with the FSU/Bama game. RTR in that one.

:brick: That has happened to me too. A lot of heckling from family (they're originally from Cleveland) did finally make me cave in and bet on the NC game; and some heavy duty dares had me betting on UCLA against USC last year, but that was it. I saw vanity and conceit beating Carroll and USC from a mile away, and won big on that one SU. Took UF SU, too, because of one game during the season. When Ball State played Michigan, and only lost by 8 (34-26), and then tOSU only beat them by 3, I said then that the Browneyes weren't impressing me, and we'd run circles around them. Cleaned up on those 2, though.

Florida is jockeying to get into the upper crust and garner some first place votes.. This gets ugly early and gets worse as the day goes on. Florida needs to show last week's game isn't indicative of their ability with the pollsters

Do I think Mississippe can upset Georgia? Mississippi State over Carolina? Aurburn over Florida? Not likely on all accounts but none would surprise me.

I agree. It's not just the payback, it's our stature on a national level that's at stake. Meyer says he's got something for them... and after watching him come up with something for tOSU last year, I've got to believe he ain't kidding.
