The Tulsa/Oklahoma game was relatively close in the first half. In the second half Oklahoma stepped it up.
You don't have Tebow in your top 5 Heisman candidates, why? I would take Tebow over almost any of the other candidates you have.
Was pretty good, but I likes some of your others better.

Tebow is a great player/athlete...but he's not the best QB in the country, nor IMO is he the best athlete. I also think Florida can win without him. I try to take everything into consideration, and certainly...if Florida keeps winning and he keeps playing well he'll move into contention
I just think QB wise both Brohm and Ryan are better, and the other three listed are better players, but that certainly doesn't mean I dont think Tebow is good. Best QB in the conference
and Tulsa isn't a BAD team...they've got a solid offense...so I won't slight OU for winning big late...
there just wasn't as much to write about this week as the others...

Nice job again ThatGuy.
I agree, Texas is a loss waiting to happen and you're right, Oka will probably clobby the horns. I just hope Texas has enough players out of jail to play.
We'll know a little bit more about the strength of the Gators and Tigers in two weeks. I still think the Tigers are rightfully ahead of the Gators, but man, is that going to be a super game October 6th! I don't know if the Gators were playing down to the Rebel's level Saturday or the Rebels were playing up to the Gator's level. My concern for the Gators is Tebow's health. Man, how many times can a guy run the ball as hard as he does and not get hurt. I hope the answer is "all season" because he is a fun guy to watch. But if he has a bad game, I do hope it will be against the LSU Tiger defense.
I did laugh at your Notre Dame comments. Ditto
Kentucky did look good again. Looks like teams, including my Tigers, can't automaticly pencil in a "W" there anymore. Good for the Wildcats, bad for everyone else.
You're right, McFadden can pretty much kiss the Heisman goodbye. With a couple more loses on the way, he can pretty well turn is attention to being a first round pick in the draft and becoming a millionaire.
Finally, I like your upset of the week. Maryland is really coming on strong this year. They just might suprise the Scarlet Knights!

tebow may not be the best qb(brohm or woodson) or the best athlete(pat white), but he is the best of both worlds. there isnt another qb in the country that can do both as well as he can. name another qb who could carry 27 times in a game against an sec opponnent, all the while throwing for 260 and 2 touchdowns(and he had an off day throwing the ball). the kid has had close to 400 yards and 4 touchdowns every game this year.
mcfadden may be a better overall player, but he is the only one in the country(offensively, dorsey may be the best player in the land), imo.
for him to not even be in the top 5 is an abberation.

This sounds homerish but so be it. You dropped Bama to 32nd? I think right now there in the top 25. Dont agree with that nor do I agree with Heisman watch. Brohm and Ryan can't compare to Tebow. He single handed had to do the work against Ole Miss saturday and came though.Brohm lost and Ryan doesn't play near the competition that TT does. Just my opinion. I may be wrong.

I liked it, as always. Thought your early comments about UK were kind of snide, but I will try to have a thicker skin. :)
I love the big 10 bashing.
I think your Heisman list is a travesty (Brohm is gone after that abominable loss, and at least one of the two between Tebow and Woodson should at least be on the radar). Then again, I think the Heisman is a joke and a waste of our breath.
I like our Rutgers upset pick. I'll stop short of calling the outright upset this week, but I do think Maryland will cover the 15-point spread.

I'm sorry, but I'm just going to have to chalk that up to homerism. His numbers and his play are inflated somewhat by the talent around him and the offensive schemes called. Don't take that as an insult, b/c he is in the top 10...but he's not top 5. I honestly forgot about Woodsen amidst everything else, and he should be in my top 5. I'll probably get around to putting up an edit. I honestly think a guy like Woodsen could do what Tebow does just as effectively as Tebow does if he was in UF's offensive scheme. Look what he's doing at a place like Kentucky?
So for now...just an editors note...bump Brohm out of 5th and put in Woodsen

Dropped bama to 32nd...what in the world are you talking about?
Matt Ryan is the best QB in the country. Period. Look what he is doing at Boston College, who does not have near the talent that Tebow does. Not to mention they are two completely different QB's. Brohm is a throw happy QB, and he's damn good. Tebow looked EXCELLENT against Tenn, but for what he's surrounded with, I want to see more out of him before I lock him into the top 5. TT has played 1 good team this year...1...and then don't even get me started on the Ole Miss performance
Meanwhile...even thought the ACC is down...Ryan already has his BC team 3-0 in the conference, and he's doing it with probably the 6th or 7th best talented team in the ACC...and the ACC blows.
I see EVERYTHING when I think about the Heisman, not just the "popularity" contest. It's not Brohm's fault that Louisville lost...can't fault him for that. He can take a lot of credit for their two wins. Obviously, at some point, if Louisville keeps losing I can't reward him for that, but still..at 2-2..he's got plenty of season left. As does Tebow to work his way into the top 5.
After UF plays Florida...then I'll have a better clue on Tebow. I just don't think he's top 5 right now. Sorry if you don't agree, but I feel I'm pretty well informed on that and I'm sticking to my guns. If I ran out into the top 10..I'd probably have him at 7 this week.
I'm also not saying I'm wrong...it's pretty much moot since I dont have a heisman vote...but that's just my .02

Notice my note about Woodsen being in, and Brohm down to 6th
although It isn't Brohm's fault Louisville is losing...
I'm going to go edit my Heisman top 5...by the time I got to it I was fading..>I forgot about Woodsen

No offense taken. UK is getting some love now, but I understand that there is some skepticism nationally (as there should be, given our history).
I see your point about brohm, but I would also point out that UL has completely abandoned their running game in the last two games. God, he threw the ball almost 70 times against Syracuse, so it's easier to put up those kinds of numbers. Further, he is making some terrible passes (two INT vs. Syracuse and there could have easily been two others). I think Brohm's decision to come back was a horrible one, he should be in the NFL making millions right now.

woodson could of carried it 27 times for 160 and 2 td's against ole miss??? damn, i didnt realize he was that big of a threat to run.
anyway, you may not agree with it, but i wouldnt call it homerism. every pundit in america has him in the top 5, with most having him anywhere from 1-3. are they all homers too or is everyone seeing something you arent???
also, he is doing this with the exact same players chris leak had last year, minus the leading receiver in dallas baker. why are his #'s and this offense so much better than leak's when leak had the same players plus dallas baker??? could it maybe be that tebow brings an aspect to the game that nobody else in the country shows up with?? nah, cant be that....

Every pundit in america has him top 5 and 1-3? Link to me every Pundit?
and LMAO comparing him to Chris Leak. That's a joke. Even a blind guy can see Tebow is better. the fact that he was brought it to do all the mop up work last year shows it. Geeze...do you not know how to take some constructive criticism? Just your sarcasm and sense of direction in your posts show that it's homerism on your part, and the fact that you are taking insult to me saying I think he's top 7 in the country
I also don't know where you got that I said Woodsen could have carried it for 160 yards and two TD's against Ole Miss. Homerism blinding you that much?

And again...for arguments sake...I'm not saying Tebow isn't good. He's got the same amount of TD's through the air as ryan, and a few less picks. And he's got more TD's on the ground. Ryan also isn't an obvious threat to run...but I like how Ryan has come out strong and started the season 3-0 in conference.
Tebow earned a LOT of points with the way he completely owned UT a few weeks back. And in the coming weeks, he's only got room to move up as he gets into the rough-n-tough SEC...and if he keeps playing this way he will move up...no question to it. But I want to see that first...

NCAA Football Heisman Hopefuls - CBSSports.com (http://cbs.sportsline.com/collegefootball/heisman) (this is a nice one, as 4 out of 5 guys have him at #1 and the other has him at #2)
now, i dont necessarily agree with all of these, but they all have different opinions that you do(and ironically enough, are along the same lines as my opinions). i challenge you to find me this many articles that DO NOT have tebow in the top 5(and credible news sources, not fan blogs). remeber, this is the tip of the iceburg, it took all of 3 minutes to find these. is that being a homer???
as far as your question about the woodson comment, to quote some guy named that guy, "I honestly think a guy like Woodsen could do what Tebow does just as effectively as Tebow does if he was in UF's offensive scheme. Look what he's doing at a place like Kentucky?" still want to stick by that one???
you say it is homerism when all im doing is agreeing with what nearly everybody but you is saying(maybe you are a homer of yourself)?? maybe im a follower, maybe im not smart enough to form my own opinion, but when i'm saying what the majority of the country is saying, it is not being a homer. the definition of a homer is not even close to what im doing here. being a homer would be me saying, "florida has a great pass rush and we will lead the sec in sacks." it is not being a homer saying tim tebow not being in the top 5 of your heisman list is an abberation.

Wow...good job in wasting a ton of time and not being able to pick up the slightest hint of trolling....but regardless..touche
But we've all seen how the media picks heisman contenders...anyone remember Eric Crouch? Charles Woodsen? Excuse me if I'm not humping what they do, and actually watching all the teams/players play and not just jumping on any bandwagon
I just think it's funny how you can ride me for an abberation of Tebow not being top 5, but you can't find it in yourself to think that someone else may put him at 7th or so? Is there that much difference? That's what I thought...no, there isnt.

the blog is a writer for sporting news, hardly a fan blog(you know, a credible magazine). is a newspaper not a credible news source??? news(pun intended) to me.
regardless, find any that didnt have tebow in the top 5??
p.s. i dont mind you forming your own opinion, i actually encourage it, but when somebody questions your opinion, it doesnt automatically make them a homer. also, i dont really care if someone puts him at 7 b/c i dont have the ability to speak(or type) to most of these people and get their feedback. you put the list out there and asked for feedback, so i gave you some. maybe you just didnt like the feedback i gave you(which is understandable). anyway, i do enjoy reading most of you stuff but people on message boards arent going to agree with everything you write, just the nature of the business(or hobby).

I dont expect anyone to agree with me, I write what I write b/c I enjoy it. And actually, I found several that didn't have tebow in the top 5. But I didn't feel any of them were "credible" enough worth mentioning. USA Today, ESPN...that's "Credible" enough to me, but I consider most of the media love pretty much worthless, even if they are on. After the joke of a heismans we've had in the past 10-15 years, it's not worth it.
As for feedback, I wanted feedback. But i've been doing this enough when I see the type of response you made initially (my bad for generalizing) when I had a article with so much content...and your only beef is with a player on your team..homer is first thing that came to mind. so my bad on that

regardless, this was more about me being a "homer" that about one guy's opinion of tebow. the main point(well, maybe not the main one) is that is everyone in the nation is saying one thing, which happens to be the same thing im saying, how does that make me a homer??? see now??
on another note, what is weak is to come into a thread with all this content and bitch about what I posted as opposed to commenting to the author of the thread. I honestly think a guy like Woodsen could do what Tebow does just as effectively as Tebow does if he was in UF's offensive scheme.
Woodson can't run to the grocery store!!! I hate seeing him run the option (always too close to the pitch man, and everybody knows he'll pitch the ball), he runs too upright (see the failed 2 point try against Ark...stupid call), and he should NEVER run the ball anyway!!
I love my quarterback and all, but Tebow he ain't, and doesn't have any business trying to be! He is an excellent pocket passer and hander-offer!! Trying to run him is really against what he does best. Designed roll-outs are OK, and he scrambles servicebly well, but that is the only running he should be doing, IMHO.

There is a difference in saying a person Could vs saying they should. Tee Martin was a very mobile QB who had a nice pass and could move around...but that doesn't mean he should be running the option. I'm saying Woodson is mobile enough to do what Tebow does (outside of mowing people over a like a bulldozer) and we be VERY effective in UF's offense. They are Both SOLID QB's...the top 2 in the SEC
