SI has moved Tim Tebow past Darren McFadden to #1 in the Heisman Trophy Watch.
Here is the article:

What exactly does Andre' Woodson have to do to get on the Heisman watch list?
He has Kentucky undefeated and ranked in the top 15, hasn't thrown an interception in his last NCAA record 295 pass attempts (and counting), has thrown 26 TDs since his last pick...
He's led 4th quarter comebacks to beat 2 other Heisman contenders in successive weeks (Brohm, McFadden). Honestly, what does the guy have to do?

Who is surprised at that? Amazing what he has accomplished. Let's sit back and watch the Tebow show. I have a feeling he thrives on the pressure!

First off, you need to realize that we have only played 4 weeks of college football. Andre Woodson is a phenomenal quarterback and putting up some good numbers so far. He might not be on the list now but he has some chances coming up against Florida and LSU to prove himself. It is just like Florida fans and LSU fans getting all bent out of shape about not being #1 or #3. Both these teams know darn well that if they run the table they will be playing in the national championship game so why does it matter what their rank is right now. So, with this being said, if Woodson puts up some great numbers the rest of the season and is able to knock off Florida or LSU, I am sure his name with appear high on that list. For now just relax and let the season unfold.

Sadly I gotta agree with you. But........Spurrier said that he's been thinking about the Florida game and has been watching Florida play a lot and thinks, THINKS he has something in the bag that can SLOW down Tebow; we'll have to wait and see.

Because he beat your Dogs last year? Woodson has ALWAYS given his teammates and coaches all the credit for his success... very humble and personable young man.

He should stick to offense....

One thing that I really liked that the article pointed out was this:
"On Saturday he almost matched the rushing yardage of Arkansas' Darren McFadden (173) and the passing yardage of Kentucky's Andre' Woodson (265)."
I think that puts Tebow's accomplishments into perspective a little bit better.

PASSING----------GP Effic Att-Cmp-Int Pct Yds TD Lng Avg/G
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Andre' Woodson----4 154.46 134-86-0 64.2 1008 11 57 252.0
Tebow, T.----------4 197.96 65-95-1 68.4 1096 10 59 274.0
RUSHING------------GP Att Gain Loss Net Avg TD Long Avg/G
----------------------------------------------------------------
Andre' Woodson------4 18 24 80 -56 -3.1 2 11 -14.0
Tebow, T.-----------4 70 385 27 358 5.1 7 25 89.5
That second stat is why you have the Heisman leader you do. Woodson's int. stat is definitely impressive, but Tebow's only int. was the fault of a receiver breaking off his route; and you can't fault him for not having as many pass attempts because he's only a sophomore in his first starting season.

Tebow is working with a better cast. Both are very deserving at this point, long way to go.

Dude, I'm pretty sure he was talking about Tebow.

I'm getting tired of people saying this.
Woodson is working with more experience, and very talented players. Keenan Burton is a player who could have went pro last year, came back, and is an automatic 2nd rounder next year. Dicky Lyons and Tamme are good recievers too. Kentucky also has a good group of backs with Little and Dixon. Woodson's supporting cast isn't bad by any means.

Little early for Heisman Hopefuls...Tebow is doing well...but his toughest tests are still to come. Besides, do you guys honestly think ESPN will allow an SEC player, much less a sophomore to win the Heisman? Heck, they stole it from Peyton Manning in '97 because they didn't want two SEC QBs winning it in consecutive years...gave it to a freakin' DB. Besides, if any sophomore shoulda won it...shoulda been Grossman in '01.

Maybe, but many are already saying it's his to lose. If he can stay with the kinds of numbers he has been racking up, he'll win it. Grossman will look like a high-schooler in comparison, IF Tebow doesn't stumble against the better teams. His pace is ridiculous.

Not including bowl games, Tebow's projected stats would look something like this:
Passing Statistics
Attempts - 195
Completions - 285
Completion % - 68.42%
Yards - 3288
TDs - 30
INTs - 3
Rushing Statistics
Carries - 210
Yards - 1074
Yards Per Carry - 5.1
TDs - 21
Obviously these numbers are inflated because we haven't played the toughest teams on our schedule yet. Still, impressive even if he falls 10% - 20% off of these numbers.

Yes, but this year, the Heisman race has been pretty much dominated by the SEC, and I think they'll most likely have no reason not to give an SEC player the Heisman trophy.

Now, THAT IS ridiculous! That kid is amazing, but even I don't think he can complete 285 passes in 195 attempts. That really is Super-human.;)

I didnt say that UK has a bad cast at all. UF recruits better than almost everyone. Fact is the Gators have a better cast than almost everyone, UK included.
Personally I think Woodson means more to his team than Tebow, but its a long ways to go yet.

Right now, I'd put Woodson above Tebow. His individual work may be less impressive, but the body of work is better, imo. Top-10 win over Louisville, win over a ranked Hog team, which has their own legit Heisman contender in DMac. Add to that, Woodson has far less around him than Tebow does...yeah, I know that Louisville win looks less impressive after their loss to Syracuse, but still....the no INT streak, winning games under pressure. I like him.
Just my opinion.
