In all fairness, I thought Bama's #16 ranking was too high for a close win over Arkansas so I'm not going to say anything about the Dawgs moving to that spot.

Rutgers is badly overrated this year. They're basing it off of Rice and last years season. If they ever get around to playing a quality team I think they'll be exposed.

Couple of things....
-UF shouldnt be #3 right now, Oklahoma should. Of course I would expect Florida to jump back over them after redeeming themselves against quality opponents. but so far Oklahoma has looked better than Florida.
-I dont see how Georgia can be ahead of SC with the same record when we did a decent job of holding our own against what is probably the best team in the country. Plus we beat UGA in their own place. Im thinkin it has a lot to do with ESPN hyping up Bama before this game.
-What in the HELL has Wisconsin done to prove they are one of the 10 best teams in the country?! Pretty much nothing..
Of course, it will all balance out over the year for the most part so it doesnt really matter.

Things will shake out by the end of the season. Some team is going to have to move out of the way for the Auburn Tigers to move into the top 20 after we take out Florida and LSU.

Just because teams struggle doesn't mean they will drop in the rankings. The ultimate decisions are based off wins and losses, not how well the team played. Sometimes it factors in, but most cases it doesn't.

I have to disagree somewhat with that. Florida dropped a spot because they played such a close game with Ole Miss, even though they won. While you are right for the most part, I think sometimes when the votes are close, it can determine the decision.

Wow, In the Coaches Top 25 there are
6 SEC teams
5 Big 10 teams
4 Pac 10 teams
How again is the Big 10 down this year? What a joke about us being "down" this year. Just because our average teams are competitive this year all of the media assumes the Big 10 sucks because tOSU and Michigan aren't the only undefeated teams.

You're right. And I did say in my last post that sometimes it factors in. Florida and Oklahoma have been nearly interchangeable the last few weeks, so it would make a difference when ranking those 2 teams. Wisconsin however would not fall behind Rutgers because they struggled against Iowa. Most of the time the actual scores of the game play a roll to teams ranked around the top 5, while passed that, it's based of wins and losses the majority of the time. That's what I think.

Because the touted Michigan powerhouse lost to Appalachian State (who lost to Wofford yesterday) and then lost (badly) to Oregon, before going on to defeat the #10 Penn State, and will probably win out in the conference.
Oh, we're also a bit miffed that you guys don't have to play a conference championship game before going to a BCS bowl.

Right, Wisconsin couldn't fall behind, even with a lackluster win, seeing as how it's not like Rutgers plays anybody anyway.
I'm not worried about Rutgers screwing anyone out of their BCS chances... Rutgers will get creamed by West Virginia (and I'm hoping USF takes down WVU)

I felt the same way when Tennessee beat Cal last year, and Cal was still ranked ahead of UT. It's just a matter of where both teams sat in the preseason rankings.

Aww what's the matter? Did somebody not get any love from ESPN today??? Don't worry I'm sure everything will be sorted out after the Buckeyes win out on that brutal schedule.

USC is a very good team and will win many many games this year. They played a very good game against the Tigers yesterday, but the game was really only close the first quarter. Up by 21-8 and in complete control going into the half, the Tigers went conservative in the second half in order not show any more of their game. The nine points scored in the second half were when coaches had shut their game plan down and gone into cruse control. This is no disrespect to USC because the Tiger nation only has respect for their improving and getting stronger program. There is a good chance we'll see them again in Atlanta in December. Yes, they are that good.
