I am going through a breakdown right now. I want everyones honest opinion, all hate and jokes aside. Here it is, I have been a Rebel fan my entire life, there are only a few seasons that I have been proud of em. For the last four years I have watched everyone beat the crap out of Ole Miss, I know that every team has loosing seasons, but my God, it seems like it has been years since we have won more than three games. Everyone looks at Ole Miss like "you mean we gotta play them, thats an easy win". I see every team in the SEC going straight up in winning seasons, and we are just left in the dust. The main thing that stirred all this up is of course todays game. We get so damn close to beating the #3 team in the nation FLORIDA GATORS, and we fail. Florida is an outstanding football team, and I had no feeling that we would win, but the thing is we get the hell beat out of us by the sorriest teams in the NCAA, and then we always play a team in the top 10 great and barely loose. What do you folks think is going on, look at all of the close scores last year, I mean we took LSU into overtime and lost by a field goal, yes LSU. Then the start of this year we almost lost against Memphis. Are we ever gonna win more than 3 games a season again. What do you do? Fire the coach, hell we have already done that so many times, no improvement!!! Should they just tear the stadium down and have more parking space? Brent was supposed to be the big deal, was he? NO!!!! BJGE can't run because no one will let him!!! By the way, if you set up for a damn fake punt against FLORIDA, and they call a TO obviously they know what is going on, then you do it anyway. MY QUESTION IS WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT OLE MISS IN THE FUTURE, IS THERE ANY HOPE? WHY DO WE SUCK SO BAD? WHY CAN'T WE CLOSE A GAME?

Being proud of your team and your school isn't all about winning. It is about the feeling you get from watching your team and wearing your school colors with pride and feeling connected with your fellow fans.
Being a SC fan to me isn't about winning games...it is about calling my mom before and during the games, getting chills when I see Williams Brice or hear 2001, remembering being a kid and going to the games, traveling to the Gator Bowl in 84, the memories, and the camraderie.
Being an AU fan is about shouting War Eagle, getting chills when I hear Eye of the Tiger, shaking my shaker, and looking proudly at my diploma, remembering the good times I had at that school, the awesome games I have been to, as well as sporting orange and blue and having love for my fellow Tigers.
The way I see it...I would much rather be part of the SC and Auburn family and never win another game than to be a fan of any other team and win every single game for the rest of my life!

Dude, as a longsuffering UK fan, I can feel your pain, believe me. You've just gotta hang tough. UK has 20 straight losses to the Gators, 22 straight to the Vols, and the list could go on. We've known futility for far longer than you guys, and let me tell ya..... it could be worse! I'm not sure Orgeron is the answer, but Ole Miss has got a lot going for it, and you will get back to prominence, maybe just not as soon as you'd like. I didn't get to see the final stretch of today's game, but for the last part of the third quarter, your team looked really good on both sides of the ball. It may be a matter of building some consistency, gaining confidence, and the players believing in themselves to get it done. That's what it's taken for UK. Our guys finally BELIEVE they can win. Tonight vs Ark was a perfect example. There were multiple opportunities for our players to "mail it in", but they fought hard and came out on top.

congrats on being a hard core fan....i respect that but if being a good fan won games, SCarl would have a million NCs. Coach O can bring 'em in but he just can't coach 'em IMO

So give him another year or two to stock the cupboard and then bring in someone that can coach. Worked well for us...

Ole Miss played with heart today...like I said in another thread...I don't believe a team is capable of playing beyond their potential...Ole Miss showed a lot of potential today...shouldn't be 1-3 right now...is the answer to fire Oregeron(sp?)...I don't know...but as far as "wins-n-losses"...there's not been much improvement over the past 3-4 years.
well didnt ole miss win the national championship in '59? Be proud of that.
Hell, Vandy never won the national championship, and most likely, probably never will.

keep your head up
O has this ship headin in the right direction
keep in mind that we are still one of the youngest teams and barely will lose anyone just 4 on offense mainly BJGE will be our biggest loss but we
will re-load at RB with some great running backs and you already know that Jevan Snead is the truth if you watched the red and blue game.
our receiving core will return which i'm very impressed with
Jerrell Powe will be eligible, Chris Strong will be in shape.
Alot to look forward tooo i'm a die hard fan aswell I want to badly win now
but given the situation I just want to see more than 4 wins and vast improvement.. next year is THE season where I expect us to turn it around and earn a top 25 ranking and once we get publicity and light on us
think about recruiting then....... we're already recruiting with the best with a losing program.
and i'm not one to always be saying next year we'll be good
all the dang time i'm a die hard too and stress soo much this time of year
just keep your head up.. a couple different bounces and we can win these close games no doubt.
the future is bright and that's a sure thing

I think Ole Miss will end up getting a great young coach, and have some winning seasons.

the future is bright and that's a sure thing Agree 100%. It sucks to lose like that Kinfolk. I feel the same way that you do, but stay positive. We are still going to win 6 games this year. I know that is hard to believe, but this game will be our turning point. All we are missing is the ability to seal the deal. That is coming. Trust Me brother. Athens is now on official upset alert.

Y'all have great recruiting classes and quality players.

You will get a new coach one day that will make all the difference. When this happens, you will see improvement in recruiting, and you will feel the hope begin to swell within the community. You will not lose top recruits to other SEC schools. Alot of the kids with NFL aspirations, are hoping to play for a school that offers them the most exposure. You know already, that you can play with anyone else, on any given day. The difference is pushing them over the top, to gain the victory. This is not easy. At Alabama, we have struggled and won, and sometimes tried very hard, and failed. This is what we did Saturday. It is a long road to a winning season. You will make this journey, as well. Believe it. It will happen for you. You are only a new coach away from new hope!

As frusterating as it is you cant loose the faith. Maybe Coach O is the problem down there, maybe its talent. I just have a hard time thinking its talent when you play the good teams the way ole miss does. Its gonna be another close one in athens this saturday. You have to look at it this way. Its the SEC the toughest conference in college football and any team and beat anyone in the SEC. Coaching might be the problem, but Ole Miss can get the talent. I would hope for a new coach and maybe they can find the guy who gets the team fired up for the sure win type of games.

I know how you feel, we have been down worse and longer than Ole Miss has. When you start to feel bad about your team, just look at your instate rival. Our last winning season was 2000. Since then the only year we didn't win 3 games we won TWO. Yeah, we've had a good start to the year, but that doesn't mean that the outcome will be any different. Ya'll have at least been beating us for the most part this decade.
The point? I dunno, I'm just as bummed as you are. Just stay loyal to your team and keep in mind that one day, however far away that day is, good times will come again. I remember 1998 when we won the West and nearly beat Tennessee in the SEC Championship Game. Or 1999 (I think it was) when we started 8-0 and were in the Top 10.
We are fans of teams that don't win every year. And guess what? Our victories will be 100 times sweeter than those of perennial powerhouses. We know the crushing feel of continual defeat, and that will make all the difference when we are finally winning again.
