Lester to miss two more games - Tracking the Tigers - al.com (http://blog.al.com/trackingtigers/2007/09/lester_to_miss_two_more_games.html)

The verdict is in at last on junior Auburn tailback Brad Lester.

Lester, who last played in the 2006 regular-season finale against Alabama in Tuscaloosa, will play for the first time this season against Vanderbilt on Oct. 6 at Jordan-Hare Stadium after serving a six-game suspension.

Lester, who was projected as Auburn's starting tailback this season, was suspended for Auburn's game against Nebraska in the Cotton Bowl last Jan. 1. Auburn athletic department sources say that the suspension for the Cotton Bowl and the first five games of this season is Lester's full penalty for what has been termed an academic issue.

As Kenny Irons' backup last season, Lester rushed 104 times for 510 yards and scored a team-high nine touchdowns. He caught six passes for 87 yards and another touchdown.

Lester, 5-foot-11 and 194 pounds from Lilburn, Ga., has rushed 166 times for 869 yards and 14 touchdowns in his Auburn career. He has caught nine passes for 139 yards and two touchdowns. As a redshirt freshman in 2005, he returned a kickoff for a touchdown against Ball State.

Yea it would have been nice to have him back for the Florida game but either way, this is good news! Tristan should be back by then I think. Our back field is starting to look pretty deep. Add Kodi to the mix and watch out, we could make some waves after all.:box:

too little WAY too late. That offense has no continuity. A total mess. I guess Borges took this year off.

If I ever need to know where that little gnat Sabama is, I'll just go look in the Auburn forums. Lord knows he's never actually posting about or even cares for the Alabam Crimson Tide!! Hey, Sabama, you do know who that is don't you?? I'm not so sure that you do since all I ever see from you is bile being posted about Auburn. What is your hang up here? Did your Daddy beat you with an Auburn belt? Was your school bully an Auburn fan? Did your girlfriend dump you for an Auburn fan? There has to be something. Don't try calling yourself a Bama fan because your not. It takes more than blind hate for Auburn to make you a Bama fan. I know many real Bama fans on here and in the real world and you sir are not and I repeat not one of them.

I see the real Bama fans such as Shk are calling you out on another thread here. Seems they think you might really be an Ole Miss fans. Tell me Sabama, is that true? Are you an Ole Miss fan? If not then what are you? And don't give me this rtr crap because I know that means nothing to you. Do you go to games? What was your major at Alabama? Do you know where the University of Alabama is located? Have you ever actually been there?

Ok, I'm done with you little fella. Go along and have your fun. I'm sure you cannot notice this, but your only making yourself look like an ass to not only us Auburn folks but to the real Bama fans as well.

mission acomplished. Say it's great-to-be-an-aubie-loser!

Got to admit...it's been a long-time coming. Its our turn now. Your team has completely fallen off the map. You have claimed #12 in SEC...how does that feel? We were bad but at least we never lost to S. FL...lmao!

I don't know why your putting us down because we lost to S Flordia there actually ranked right now and looking to possibly win the Big East. (This is all about Sabama comment). Has Bama had to play 20 freshmen in the last five years??? I didn't think so you guys had experienced losers. We barely lost with freshman the last two games.

So, back to topic. Will Lester be good to go against Vandy? Has he been practicing, Will he have to win back his starting role, do you think he will be back in terms of form?

I am very curious as to the specifics of his suspension. I heard that he plagerized, was given the chance to do his own work and turned in the same plagerized work. Now that just seems dumb. Plagerism is serious in college and can lead to expulsion, if that's what happened it would be interesting to know the nature and degree of the offense and punnishment. Nobody here probably knows for sure what happened and it's best to give these guys all the opportunities to succeed in life. Auburn has handeled this matter the best way possible for all involved parties. I wish Lester and AU the best of luck (until that Saturday in November, anyway).

These are great questions that I guess only time will answer. He has been practicing with the team and Tubbs said he was game ready and I think he would have played this week had the suspension been lifted for the game.

As far as the details of the suspension, your report is about as accurate as I have heard. I want to believe that he was standing up for the belief that his work was his own. Otherwise if he had a chance to fix it and and didnt then either he thought he was 'untouchable' or he's just plain numb-skulled! My dad use to say 'a hard head makes a soft butt', so I hope he's had enough tenderizing cause like you said, he could have easily been expelled form college altogether. Since the decision to let him play again came from the NCAA, you would think that the details would be public record but maybe not.
