The university of Arkansas is new at this Heisman race, that I can understand. But if they would like to see its favorite son claim this popular award at the downtown athletic club come December, someone had better get off their arse, and get busy.
As late as yesterday, members of the nation media were still announcing via print, airwaves etc., to the public that McFadden wasn't able to finish the Alabama game due to cramps, and a pulled hamstring. Not one mention the concussion he suffered in the 4th quarter.
This is the fault of the UofA, and even the in state media. The state media can make the necessary corrections of wrongful press being circulated to the public.
This sort of misinformation would never happen at Heisman U, (Southern Cal), Ohio State, Notre Dame or other top football programs that run successful campaigns.
It's not enough that Darren has his work cut out for him this season that he will have to win at least 10 games to even be considered for this award. That's sad. Thus far there isn't a better player in America that means more to his team with the exception of Colt Brennan of Hawaii. And to me, because of the competition, I can't give him a vote.
Arkansas isn't near a media Mecca like other schools with bigger markets. So you have to let the rest of the nation know about your candidate, and so far We're not doing that.
This would be a great story for Chris Fowler to tell, and correct on this Saturdays Gameday, to let a national audience know what is up with the front runner for the Heisman.
