View Full Version : Cox isn't the only one making mistakes @ Auburn

There were two plays in the 4th. quarter that in hind sight were huge in Auburn losing to MSU, neither of which involved Brandon Cox. The first was the dropped interception by Patrick Lee. He had clear running straight to the end zone. Had he not dropped the ball, we'd have won. The other major mistake that cost us was Robert Dunn (?) letting a MSU punt go instead of catching it. Auburn had MSU pretty well confined to their side of the field but that punt gave Auburn the ball on it's own 11, thus flipping field position in favor of MSU. These two plays are good examples of the types of mistakes that cost games. Wile many of our woes can be traced to Brandon Cox we should not put all of it on him. Also, both of these plays involved Patrick Lee (senior) and Robert Dunn (Junior) so they cannot be excused as freshman mistakes. It is time for some soul searching as a team if they expect to turn things around anytime soon. I hope they can do it.

Tubberville's numbers while at Auburn speak for themselves. Anyone(including AU fans) who thinks TT needs to go is a true idiot. It's a bad start and a possible down year but Tubberville and the coaching staff will not allow this to be a regular happening. Too much talent, just have to give the young players time to fully develop.

I wouldn't bark too loud about coaching debacles.

Damn third (notice spelling ) thats makes the second good post you have made now, be careful though, it could turn into a habit. Not even one reference to the Tide, did somebody steal your password? + Rep first chance I get, no doubt.

Yeah well, much as I hate to admit it, the Bama nation hasn't given me much to go off of since the season started (that could change soon).

If you'd + rep me as much as you've - rep me, maybe my rep bar will go back to what it was. :glare:

Hey, that game was your idea. :closedeye But seriously, good post, anybody that calls for Tubby's job is a moron and one ungrateful SOB. His record does speak for itself, and he would be snatched up by somebody before AU could even write him his last check. Sh!t just happens sometimes, you cant win em all, but now is the time when you find out who the real fans are. Later

I agree with you 100%. I've seen a couple of new guys on here and I'll just have to call them what they are....."Barners". They are not true Auburn fans that stick with the team no matter what. They are the type that you will see with the car flags flying on a Wednesday afternoon if Auburn is winning, but as soon as things get tough all you hear from them is calling for Coach Tubberville's job and how this or that player sucks. Tubberville has brought Auburn to the elite ranks of college football from the SEC gutter it was in the mid 90's. This year is a tough and will require someone who can turn a bad team around and teach a young team how to win. If memory serves me right, this is exactly what Tubberville did when he came to Auburn after Terry Bowden left.
