Well if you didn't think Alabama was for real before, they most certainly are now.
Next weeks Georgia/Alabama game, I believe, will set the tone for the rest of the season for our Bulldogs. A win against such a good team would give us a lot of motivation and confidence I think, in which we could then use to perhaps win the East. But that will be no easy task with Florida looking so goddamn good
So heres to a good week of discussing this game with you Bammers, and come next Saturday, hopefully a Dawg victory

Gonna be a good game, but I am going to refrain from making any kind of prediction, Normally I can make a good guess, but this one looks wide open either way

Time to see what UGA is really made of. I think this game will be as close as the Arkansas game.
Will I'm rooting for Bama...I'm leaning toward UGA at the moment. Your D looks pretty good.
Stafford is going to have to have a big game in T-town though.
Oh and congrats on the win today even if you guys knew the game was a gimme. Thats sorta why I'm favoring UGA...Their offense may have found more rhythem

Alabama has proven themselves, Georgia has not. That's why I'm a slight Bama lean for this game, but this could be the day on which Georgia shows what they're made of.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and pick the Dawgs to win this game, and here's why.
1. Georgia has more quality depth right now than Bama does. Bama is mighty thin on the D side of the ball. Arky took the game over in the 4th quarter, and really should have won the thing if Nutt wasn't such a dumb ass. Though we don't have anyone like McFadden, I think our O has more and varied weapons.
2. The OL is really starting to come around. Clint Bolling is coming up very large as of late. A real find he is. The rest of the young'uns are beginning to get it too. Seraels has just about found the right combinations and the right rotations of guys that can git'er done.
3. I like our secondary much more than Arky's.
4. CMR has come up big more often than not in games like this one in other people's houses ever since he has been our coach.
5.That was an awfully emotional win by the Tiders over the Hawgs. Will they come out a bit flat for this one?
27-21 UGA.
The reason I think we have a shot at this game is because of our Defense which has looked solid through the first 3 games of the season. More so than that of Arkansas'. If we want to have a chance though, Stafford has to play better than he did against SC. Keys to the game: Stafford maintaining his composure and the defense getting to JPW (the hogs gave him way too much time).

True enough about Matthew. I think SC getting pressure on him at the beginning of the game caused him to really rush things later on even though the OL played a lot better as the game went on. But I think SC's front 7 is a bit better than Bama's, and like I say, our OL is just now hitting its stride.
I think our DEs need to play the run well also. Bama sure does like to run it off tackle.
I feel good about this game. I hope my feelings are right.

The interesting thing to me is the fact that this is UGA's first road game of the season. CMR-coached teams usually do well on the road, but it still presents a challenge. Coach Saban likes to mix things up on defense and try to confuse QBs. He also likes to bring the blitz from everywhere but the stands. If Stafford doesn't get rattled and can stay on his toes without rushing decisions in the pocket, he will make it an interesting game. I don't see our defense getting as tired in the fourth quarter in this one the way defending McFadden wore us out the other day. This one is going to be so close, it will be almost painful. I predict lots of drinking on my part, that's about all I'm willing to predict right now.

I think Bama has the edge going into the game. We had a really big victory last week, and Bama has looked real solid offensively. I dont think any one on the UGA D can step up against DJ and completely shut him down. If Bama wants to win, then they have to pass the ball. When you are able to pass, more than likely, your are able to run. Im not going to make any predictions either, this game is way too evenly matched. But I hope the Tide can pull out a victory.

Well, you've obviously been Sabanized. See, we're trying to have an unbiased discussion on the upcoming game, not homer predictions.

I think the teams are pretty even on paper.
I also think Bama is beat up and emotionally spent after the game with Arkansas, which gives us a little edge, hopefully enough to overcome the home field advantage.
I expect a close game down to the wire, with the winner being the team that takes care of the ball and limits turnovers and special team plays.

I dont know if we are that emotionally spent, but either way the win over Arky has got us more pumped up about this game also if I heard on the radio correct, College Gameday will be held in T-Town for this game. Does anyone have any truth to this?

I haven't a clue as to who will win, but I am expecting a great SEC match-up.
I think a key for Georgia is OL play. Against USCe, Stafford didn't have enough time and the backs didn't have consistent holes to run through. I think they will improve with each game, us winning will largely depend on how well they can hold off Alabama's defense.
I believe UGA's defense is fairly solid for this early in the season. I don't think it's a high scoring game.
Most of all, I am just excited that it appears the SEC has Alabama returning to a prominate status, South Carolina taking a step up, and even Vandy and Kentucky making the nation take notice. If it continues, we are in for some great SEC football.

If saban wants a blitz from the stands, I'll volunteer. I want me a piece of them DAWWWGS. I'll be coming form the N End Zone. Look out Stafford Edwards is coming on an all out blitz. lol

Well as long as we're talking about winning teams we should give MSU some credit at 2-1 they have the best record that they have had in years. Good luck MSU

This game is going to be huge for both teams. Bama played decent against Vandy but looked subpar for most of the game. Also vs Arky they gave up a huge lead to a team that relies on running the football. If a passing team came back on them i would understand but the Hogs run the rock and Bama knew it and couldnt do a thing. UGA hasnt really had a test. OKST was a good win but with their starters not playing for some reason has lost all validty recently, the USC game was just terrible. THe offense looked like boys playing against men. THe WCU is a toss out for both teams. If UGA had a little more experience i would say UGA wins. However no road experience, may equal problems for our young bunch. Hopefully we can show some heart and effort if we dont and drop passes and come out flat and try to turn it on whenever were down. Bama will show us up in TTOWN. GO DAWGS i hope were ready. SIC EM..

I don't want to speak for all Bama fans but I think most of us feel the same way about this game. I think you guys will be our toughest test so far, and this game has huge implications for us, just as it does for the Dawgs, in determining division placement. If we can beat Georgia, then that gives our guys the confidence they'll need to beat Tennessee, and Auburn, and FSU. I'm not even going to touch the LSU game because they truly look unstoppable. But hey, here's a to a great Gameday atmoshpere in T-Town and one helluva game later that night :goodjob:

It is like Jackie Sherrill always said, Back to Back BIG Games are hard to play, you put so much emotion into the first one it is hard to get that same intensity into the second, Bama has to figure out how to play with the same intensity they did last week, Georgia on the other hand will probably be a little looser coming in ,not as tense, I figure another 4th quarter score will settle this one, Just depends on who has the ball last!

Well said, I have always said that it is one of the big factors that makes it tough to go undefeated in the SEC. Having to get up week after week for a "big game" is extremely difficult. Lou Holtz always said the same thing.

I want Bama to win for two reasons:
1) Georgia will be 0-2 and essentially out of the SEC East Title picture.
2) CBS would pick up the Bama vs. FSU game next week, meaning we would get an 8:00 PM game on ESPN against Auburn.

I don't think anybody sits down in this one. It's going to be a classic SEC "barnburner" (Oops, sorry, that's the other Bama school). I'm curious to see how Bama not only comes out emotional, but if they can sustain it for all four quarters after last week (what a game last week!). I think this one being at home is a huge advandage for the young Tidesters. I still think the Bulldawgs win by a point or a fieldgoal, but it's a shaky pick to say the least. It will be a great game to watch on ESPN tomorrow night. One thing is for sure, I don't think anyone outside the SEC wants a piece of the top 10 SEC teams right now. Man, this is a geat season!

This game ought to really be a turning point either way for both teams. If 'Bama wins it will give them the upper hand in the rest of their games this season (except for against LSU of course). If they lose it will open up doubt and be a huge setback for this years talk about Alabama being "Back" and all that.
If Georgia wins this one it could very well be the turning point in our way back to being the SEC East champion again. Probably won't be this year though with our loss to SC and Florida being so dominate again this year. :brick: A loss though will pretty much end it and we will probably not be any better off than we were last year.... Georgia has a VERY tough schedule for the rest of the year and a loss here would be a very rough start toward having a decent year.
This ought to be a true smash mouth game and could really go either way as I see it. It ought to be an exciting game to say the least!!
