Kodi is the leader now. 18 year true freshman that can get the job done. That's more then could be said about our former QB who's been on the team for 5 years and is older then 18 NFL QBs.

After the Kansas State game I thought right then and there. Tuberviller has to have Kodi Burns on the field. If it's at QB or flanker. This kid is too talented to be standing on the sidelines. You have to find a way to put the ball in his hands. I knew he could play in the SEC as a true freshman. Now the rest of the conference does. He's going to make freshman mistakes, but he also will create highlights videos for Auburn. This may be the turning point for War Eagle.

Settle down there beavis. As much as he runs, he'll no doubt get banged up. If he makes it to the LSU game, the other tigers will destroy him.

LSU will destroy any team they play, on up to USC in the Superdome in January. That's assumed. We just want to get on the board and pose a threat.

Burns will give us that on offense where Cox could never hope to.

Burns, Mallet, and Wilson.... We prefer to get out of state QB's for some reason? Our only in state QB (Mustain) didn't work out!

And now the game is over and Tuberville has lost another...

I think they should NEVER put Cox in the redzone. Always have Kodi in there with the spread offense. It's obvious that he knows how to make all the same passes Cox can, if not better.

yea i dont like having Cox in the red zone. i wanted to see Kodi play atleast 1st and 2nd down. I woulda been ok with the decision to have Cox try from 5 yards out on the last two attempts even tho i hate his guts.

I had no doubt Tubby would put Burns in at least when they got inside the 10. Tubby gave that one away IMO.

Ya bro, how smart was that Mustain pick up? I'm sure a Kodi Burn Darren McFadden option wouldn't have come in handy this year. Mallet wouldn't have been bad either.

McFadden/Jones/Burns would have been disgusting.

Unfortunately, Auburn's future only knows 5 plays.

Auburn falls short again

Just back from the dressing room. Mississippi State beat Auburn 19-14. Maybe you heard?

Auburn got as close as the Mississippi State 9-yard line with less than a minute to play with quarterback Brandon Cox back at the helm, but a fourth-down pass in the end zone fell incomplete.

"This is one of those games we felt we could take control, but we couldn't,'' said Auburn coach Tommy Tuberville. ``This is a team that is going to have some ups and downs. The biggest thing is to keep our morale.''

Tuberville said he liked what he saw in freshman quarterback Kodi Burns, but State eventually shut him down because of his limited knowledge of the playbook. ``They caught up to what Kodi was doing. He only knew three, four, five plays.''

Offensive coordinator Al Borges said he didn't know how he'd play his quarterbacks next week.

"We're not going to panic,'' said Tuberville after watching his team fall to 1-2 on the year.

We'll have more later.

He's only been on campus for a couple months, its not his fault that he only has 5 plays down pat. Kodi is the future of this program over the next 3 years and he will know a lot more than 5 plays in the future.
