I heard a good deal of talk this weekend about Michigan going after Les Miles after this season. He played there and started his coaching career there. What do LSU's fans think will happen?

Who knows? we'll have to see how the season progresses. if he wins the SEC, i think he stays. if he has 2 losses, he'll be run outta town. LOL
but home is where the heart is (and the money)

I don't know how in the world you are so quick there Ramp. Your response came up the same time I posted this poll! you must have good typing skills. I really have no idea myself if he'd really go or not. I don't see him losing two games this year, in fact I doubt at this point if they lose any. He is a Michigan guy so I'd guess he'd proabably go so long as the money is right. Being that Michigan is one of the biggest and richest programs in he nation, Miles just might be the highest paid coach in the country by this time next year if Michigan and LSU gets into a bidding war over him.

I think that Miles to Michigan is already in the works. No offense to LSU, it is a loaded program and I am sure they pay well but Miles is Maze and Blue through and through. Also, it is not like he will be following Bo, Carr is hated and the people want change.

LSU will have to win the NC game and have to offer big bucks and an extention. Miles' is a former alum, player and coach at Michigan under the late Bo Schembechler

You need to remember that Les has a HUGE buyout clause if he leaves for Michigan. Also, if Miles wins the NC this year he will get a raise, and will probably end getting more Michigan would offer. And the LSU job is a better job right now than the Michigan one. LSU has more talent, a great coaching staff, is in a great area to recruit talent, etc.

I hate to see a rumor like this get started and have any role in disrupting things at the school where a coach is presently situated. It is very unfair to the team, and very distracting. I am sorry for LSU that this is happening.

Thats a good point that nobody has mentioned yet. Will this become a distraction for LSU?

Bo Schembechler was almost a father figure to Les. Money talk aside, I think he will follow his heart... to Michigan at the appropriate time.

I think Michigan will absolutely pursue Miles for the job, and likewise I think he'll take it.
No big deal for LSU, however. After they win the national championship this year they'll have no problem finding someone better than Miles to take the reigns.

I think pretty much every coach dreams to go back and coach for their alma matter

Agree. Agree. Agree there is alot more to a coaching change than "We want him , and we'll pay this" right now I think LSU is one of the top 3 jobs in all the land
