Well, the more things change, the more they stay the same. There were a few surprises in Week 2, but nothing that history hasn't already suggested.

How do you start anywhere other than Michigan this week?? I guess Appy State wasn't a fluke. Oregon went into the "Big House" and b*tch slapped Meeechigan up and down the field. That was brutal!! The only compelling story left with Michigan this season is to see how many more hours Lloyd Carr hangs on!! At the very least, can we please stop these rediculous threads of how the Pac-10 is no good?? Especially the ones which try to make the case that the Big 10 is better. I think we saw plenty of evidence this weekend that the Big 10 is certainly below the Pac-10 and probably below the Big 12 this season for sure!!
LSU was simply AWESOME!!!! I know I'm usually pretty critical of the Tiggers, but that was a major league a$$ whipping they put on Va Tech!! No question that the talent is there for a special season, the question remains...can they come with that type of intensity every week??
Auburn....not to rub salt in the wounds, but.... I guess the most disapointing part is that EVERYBODY outside of Eastern Alabama saw that one coming from a mile away!! Tubbs has his work cut out for him this year.
Kudos to the Cocks!! That was a BIG win!! Not the prettiest thing you've ever seen, but big nonetheless!! Congrats!!
For the Dawgs, this lack of consistency is really beginning to be a thorn in Richt's side!! To look so good one week, and so average the next. This loss was big. You now have to hope for wins away from home against the Vols and Gators and hope USC trips up twice. Too early to cue the fat lady, but the Dawgs have a tough road to hoe!! Also, let's ease up on the Stafford v Tebow threads for a while!! Stafford was just a hair under impressive against the Cocks!!
Nice win for Bama, but did you ever think you'd live to see the day when Bama fans were hyping a win over Vandy so much??
You know, the Cats are quietly off to a very impressive start!! Kent St is not going to be confused with any elite programs anytime soon, but they were coming off an upset win at Iowa State. Let's not forget about that lil' blue team to the North!!
The Vols and Gators got tune-up wins for their clash this week!!
Ole Miss....nice numbers on paper, but predictable result!!
MSU....at least Henig's going to make an effort to remove that "worst QB ever" label. Way to beat the Greenies!!

Outside the SEC...
* Just how good is Oklahoma in everyone's opinion?? They sure seem to be playing at a higher level than everybody else. That was a severe beat-down they put on the Canes!!
* I don't know what Mack Brown said at halftime, but they physically manhandled TCU after spotting the Horny Toads a 10-0 halftime lead. The Red River Shootout is looking pretty good this year!
* Cal survived a predictably tough game in Ft Collins. The only reason I bring this up is that the doubters are sure to talk about this one with regards to the Vols. This game (despite what those may think) only strengthens the argument that Cal is for real.
* Hawaii survived Ruston!! They should send thank you cards to La Tech's coach for that decision to go for two. Tough loss for Tech!!
* Texas A&M had to go to 3 OTs to dispatch of Fresno State. Aggie football....it's Frantastic!!
* Finally, just what team IS good out of the Big 10?? I guess you'd have to lean towards PSU, but I still am not overly impressed with them. OSU was far from awe-inspiring in a 20-2 win over Akron, and trendy favorite Wisconsin barely survived UNLV (yes, football, not basketball)!! I guess at least the Big 10 title is up for grabs!!

LSU is good but they can't beat the Patriots or the Colts. Other then that, they might beat every team.

USC has a solid defense and did a good job.

For Alabama I was very happy considering everyong and their brother was saying we would lose to Vandy. The defense played well but the ultimate test is this week against the best run offense in the nation. I have been very pleased thus far with the play of the outside LBs which has helped this defensive line a lot. BTW, JPW must play a lot better then he has the past 2 weeks.

Wow Cox is bad and that offensive line isn't much better. Their defense is very good and Groves is unstopable. Wow, wow, wow was he everywhere. 9freaking tackles and 9 quarterback pressures for Groves. Toss a coin for SEC Defensive Player of the Year between him and Dorsey.
