The preparations, game plan, and execution by LSU against the ACC leading VT Hokies was little less than stunning. The Tigers have it all, did it all, and showed it all in an impressive display of dominating football. Here's the skinny...

BATON ROUGE -- Virginia Tech quarterback Sean Glennon expressed some trepidation in the week leading up to Saturday’s game against LSU in Tiger Stadium about the prospect of 92,739 fans screaming and the vaunted LSU defense staring him down. Turns out, Glennon had every reason to be afraid.
LSU’s offense dismantled the well-reputed Virginia Tech defense, amassing 598 total yards. LSU’s defense smothered speedy Virginia Tech offense, limiting the Hokies to a measly 149 total yards.
Added together, the result was a 48-7 thrashing of the ninth-ranked Hokies by the second-ranked Tigers before the largest crowd in Tiger Stadium history.
The Tigers dominated in every category of the stat sheet and from the opening kick, scoring touchdowns on their first two possessions to effectively salt away the win. LSU improved to 2-0 on the young season while Virginia Tech was left to regroup after falling to 1-1.
LSU spilt the yards between rushing and passing almost directly down the middle, gaining 297 yards on 41 carries and 301 yards on a 22-of-32 performance by the quarterback combo of Matt Flynn (http://www.lsusports.net/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=5200&ATCLID=174952&Q_SEASON=2007) and Ryan Perrilloux (http://www.lsusports.net/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=5200&ATCLID=174063&Q_SEASON=2007). Flynn finished with 17 completions in 27 tries and a rushing touchdown. Perrilloux completed all five of his pass attempts, two of which were touchdown passes of 34 and 28 yards.
Keiland Williams (http://www.lsusports.net/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=5200&ATCLID=233525&Q_SEASON=2007) paced the Tiger rushing attack by averaging an eye-popping 18 yards per carry on his way to 127 yards on just seven attempts, two of which were touchdowns. Jacob Hester (http://www.lsusports.net/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=5200&ATCLID=174927&Q_SEASON=2007) contributed 81 yards on 12 carries and a touchdown.
Glennon was removed from the game in favor of freshman Tyrod Taylor in the second quarter after completing just 2-of-10 passes for 16 yards and an interception. Taylor faired a little better, completing 7-of-18 passes for 62 yards while accounting for the Hokies’ lone score on a 1-yard touchdown run in the third quarter. He led Virginia Tech with 44 rushing yards on nine carries. LSU limited Hokie tailback Branden Ore to just 28 yards on 14 carries.

Miles can coach after all! Glad to welcome the rest of the nation on the Miles' bandwagon.

But I guess we all see what we want to see. . . And boy did the nation see it all Saturday night! Nice job coach!

One of the best things about Miles, if not the best, is his ability hire great coordinators and coaches. Our offense is amazing and is probably the best to ever be at LSU. Our oline improved a lot from week one to week two. We are doing better at WR than most people thought. And guess what- we have a new OC, new OL coach, and new WR coach.

So many things were impressive last night, but I am very happy about the way they are using Ryan Perrilloux. He's doing his thing and doing it well, and gaining valuable game experience for next year. He's got a rifle for an arm and his passes are excellent. When Flynn goes out and Perrilloux comes in with the likes of Richard Murphy for a running back, we haven't moved down in talent, ability, or speed one bit. To be perfectly honest, the passing and speed may be just a tad better.

Ditto Geaux! I was also impressed with all the other reserves that came into the game in the second half. The defense during that time was flying all over the place. It was a crazy! This team is loaded for years to come.

Curtis Taylor appears like he is going to be one bad mofo for years to come also. Just ease up a little on those late sideline hits.

Why not? Nobody in Louisiana jumped on until we hired Saban. Therefore, as catalyst of the bandwagon jumping, Bama fans have a right to jump on.:closedeye

nah...there were some grumblings about the hire (myself included) but we gave him the benefit of the doubt. you'll always have those "fire the coach" fans, but i don't know a single person who doesn't support him.

There were lots of grumblings that suddenly disappeared when Saban hired on. Just sayin'....
