Yesterday was quite disapointing. Seth Adams threw for over 300 yds and BJGE ran for over 200 yds! Still a loss!!! I have to say that I was very impressed with Chase Daniels. He is no doubt in the top 3 QB's that I have ever seen play live. Mizzou will go on to do great things. I for one underestimated them and was sure the Rebels were ready to win a game like this. Even with them favored to win the Big 12 North I just knew we were going to pull the upset. We did not. I was wrong. Our team did show some promise, but it is evident that our defense cannot handle a spread offense. Who else in the SEC runs a spread? I don't want to ever see it again. There are plenty of "what if's" in this game, but I am not even going to give them a second thought. We need to win not talk about how great we lost.
With the 3rd hardest schedule in the country Vandy has become a must win.
Here are a few stats
• BenJarvus Green-Ellis went over 200 yards for the first time in his career, finishing with a career-high 226 yards on 33 carries. It also marked his fifth career game with at least 100 yards. His 226 yards are the sixth most in a single game in Ole Miss history.
• Seth Adams had a career-high 305 yards passing, completing 23 of 41 passes, including three touchdowns.
• Seth Adams completed the longest pass of his career, a 68-yard touchdown throw to Mike Wallace, in the third quarter.
• The 68-yard touchdown catch by Mike Wallace is the longest reception of his career, and marked his third career TD.
• The 68-yard touchdown-pass was the longest pass since a 77-yard touchdown throw from Eli Manning to Chris Collins in the 2002 Mississippi State game.
• Shay Hodge notched his first career touchdown, a five-yard catch from Seth Adams with 1:09 to go in the second quarter
• Greg Hardy recorded his third career touchdown, a three-yard pass from Seth Adams with 4:24 to go in the third quarter. It marked the third game in a row for Hardy to notch a touchdown, dating back to the Mississippi State game in 2006.
• Mike Wallace had a career-high 136 receiving yards on 7 receptions.
• Mike Wallace's 136 receiving yards are the most by a Rebel since Mario Hill had 187 against Memphis in 2005.
• This marks the first time since the 2004 Wyoming game that Ole Miss has had a 100-yard receiver and 100-yard rusher. In that game Vashon Pearson had 133 yards rushing and Mario Hill had 142 yards receiving.
• Ole Miss' 534 total yards is the most in the Ed Orgeron era, and the most since 567 total yards against Wyoming in 2004.
• The last time Ole Miss had 300 yards passing was in the 2004 Wyoming game with 346.
DEFENSIVE NOTES
• Jamarca Sanford had a career-high 13 tackles, including 8 solo.
• Ashlee Palmer tied his career high with 12 tackles, including a career-best 7 solo tackles. This marks his second straight game with double-digit tackles.
• Kendrick Lewis notched a career-best nine tackles.

They had great stats. Not trying to hide that just assumed it was obvious. We both had over 500 yds total offense

I agree that Green-Ellis is an outstanding player and Seth Adams looks to be the real deal also. It would not be honest of me if I did not admit that I wish both of these guys were Bulldogs.
If I were a Rebel , my concern would be with the Ole Miss defense.
They have allowed 1,001 yards in 2 games vs, unranked teams.
Of course losing a stud on like Willis on defense is about like losing Eli on offense.
I am surprised by the lack of defense for the Rebels. They hired a great DC in my opinion in John Thompson.

I agree I like thompson as well. The problem we have had is that we have faced two spread offenses in a row. We are very talented and very Young behind the D line. Look for some improvement as we face some more traditional offenses in conference play. The spread offense is very challenging for a young D to contain.

Jonathan Cornell is in charge of making all the defensive calls against the spread offense, and he went down early in the game with a neck stinger that many though was a serious neck injury when the stretcher initially came out. You could see the defense was lost at times without him making the calls until halftime adjustments.

John Thompson IS a great DC, but it takes time to build. He can't completely turn around UM's defense in just one off-season. (Just like our coaches can't completely turn around our offense in just one off-season, a subject of which we BAMA fans we given a painful reminder of yesterday.)

Ole Miss has to find some defense. Even in the win over Memphis a lot of yards were given up. 507 yards per game so far.

LSU defense is good. I'd expect them to be giving up more yards than that though against some real offense. Of course they don't really see that until South Carolina or Florida.

You're exactly right. I think more than anything though, the Rebs need to play a complete game. Against Memphis State our D played lights out in the 1st half and then awful in the 2nd half. Against Mizzou it was the opposite. Our offense was also non existent until the 2nd half. If our coaching staff can find a way to force the Rebs to play with the same intensity for an entire 4 quarters I think we'd see some improvement. I have to say I'm happy with the offense and I'm happy our defense faced such a great offense before we begin SEC play. I don't even want to say what Florida would have done (or might still do) against us if we hadn't faced Mizzou first.
