I have to give props to SC as well. Spurrier once again showcased his gifted coaching abilities in this one. SC's fast defense put forth a stout effort. They absolutely flew around the field. Boyd and Davis ran the ball well. SC fans should be proud. Huge early-season win for the Dawgs in a place that isn't easy to win.

Very classy of you Geechee. Your season is just beginning and Stafford is going to be great by year's end.

Pat yourself on the back for a classy post. There are some USC fans posting garbage that could use a lesson in etiquette.

But none of the posters on this thread, BTW.

That's very telling of you. Here because were USC fans, we're expected to hear and accept UGA, UT and UF kicking our a$$es, stomping us in the ground, and running it down our throats all season long. "Moreno is gonna run all over you guys", "Stafford's gonna have a field day!", etc, etc.

Well, we end up winning a game against the #11 team in the nation on national tv in THEIR stadium and we haven't earned any bragging rights?

Why don't you smell what you're shoveling.:thumbsdow

This is a great post. I totally agree NEO. We have every right to be enthusiastic! If they can't take it, they shouldn't dish it out. This IS our year. Whether everyone likes it or not. I've beens saying 10-2 since feb. and after a performance like that, I'm positive we'll finish like that.

Though bittersweet, South Carolina winning tonight brightened my evening a bit after the second week of sitting in a miserable Michigan Stadium environment. They looked solid. Feels good to have something to be happy about for the first time this season. It just had to come at the expense at another of my favorite teams. Again...bittersweet...

Like Spurrier said: "All it means is that we're 1-0 in the SEC." Of course it's great to win, but this doesn't make our season, it only moves us one step toward the goal. Thanks to the gracious Bulldogs that have congratulated us. IMO, there isn't a classier coach out there than Mark Richt. It's been 5 years. We've come close before. This time, it went our way. But it did come down to the last play and it never should have in my opinion. We led the whole way and had opportunities to put it away, but we didn't. It wasn't a pretty win, but I'm happy we finally stood up and held on for the win.

It's obvious that you're not used to winning big games since you can't do it with any amount of class. There are plenty of USC fans on here that are enjoying this win in a civil and non-demeaning way. You are the exception.

Congrats on the win cocks.... you guys played well.

Not taking anything away from you guys, but I do think we did alot to beat ourselves. Stafford was terrible, and our O-line was as we expected, they have alot of work to do.

But no excuses, you guys were the better team on the field tonight.

I do think that the USC-UGA series is fast becoming a big rivalry, from here on out we can expect a big game every time we face off.

Wow...I have to admit, I never thought Spurs could bring this team to the level you guys are. Not that I don't have faith is Spurs...and I've always believed SC has one of the best football atmospheres and greatest fans in the SEC...but man, you guys looked very confident...with swagger out there tonight. It's scary to think how good SC can be. I am not looking forward to our trip to Columbia...

As you guys proved last year vs. OSU, speed kills. For years speed has been killing us, but Spurrier and the conditioning coaches have done a great job of improving team speed immensely. We also have some size and power across the board and starting this year that applies to a good number of second and third teamers as well. We still have a way to go before we have a chance to be a favorite over any top-caliber opponent, but I think we're to the point where no one should be that surprised if we beat anyone.

LSU will obviously be incredibly tough in a couple weeks and they will rightly be the favorite. Hopefully our D will fly around like it tonight and give us a fighting chance. I'm looking forward to it!

Thanks for the congrats and respect from everyone!

Man, that was one of the best games that I have seen in a while. Even if I did have to explain why USC couldn't just pick up the deflected pass by Stafford off the ground and run it in a thousand times, or why the recievers had to get hit so hard when they caught a ball.

This makes Georgia's Fifth straight loss in the SEC East. Like Spurrier said, they aren't the powerhouse, right now, they once were. No one should read too much into this game. We needed it, but we're pretty evenly matched with Georgia. Tennessee, Arkansas, LSU, Florida? Now that's a different level and we've got to make alot of improvements to compete with them.

........Geez now I gotta eat a turtle......I know someone remembers me saying that  But yes the Roosters just dominated all game. I wouldn't have believed it unless I saw it. The only part of the game I liked was they kept showing my guy Joe Cox. An I will admit half way through the game I was wanting them to put him in. But none the less it was as always a defensive game and you guys were the better team. I know Ok. State was not much but I just think the Dawgs that showed up in Athens yesterday looked completly diffrent. Even when Stafford had time in the pocket he was making bad decision. But no exsucse you guys beat us fair an square. I was proud of both teams for the lack of penalties. I dont think a few of those personal fowl calls on South Carolina should have been called either. All in all it was a good game and was that last drive exciting or what lol

Good game Gamecocks and im waiting for Gauex (or however you spell it) to make me my turtle dish

Please, don't start the negitive crap against these fans. Let them celebrate, after-all they deserve it. After going through all the bad press they had to endure last year with the embarrasment of the drunks at home on Natioanl TV, and the sad sad bottle throwing inccident. They have their right to celebrate. Beside, throwing confetti is much safer than glass any day of the week.

Nice win Gamecock fan.

Great game, SC. It was evident in the first quarter that you guys wanted it more. The youth and inexperience was exposed, but that's not to take anything away from what the Gamecocks did. I can't say that I'm entirely stunned at losing to this team. Not because of Spurrier and not just because they were due to win. USC is a better team right now, period. I hope the Dawgs will use this as an eye-opener to improve. As many predicted, the East will be wide open this year.

Congrats on the win South Carolina. Even though I feel we beat ourselves a win is a win and South Carolina could very well be the SEC East Champion this year. Congrats again.
