My fellow swine, I really feel good going to Tuskaloosa next week. After seeing the Vanderbilt game today, I was able to see first hand that Saban hasn't yet perform any miracles and rose this team from the dead.

The strengths were right where I expected them. OL look solid. Lead by one of my favorite players in André Smith, he again has shown he is a all-conference lineman. This guy by the end of his career will go down as one of the best ever in my opinion.

Vandy shot themselves in the foot with their kicking game, and spotted the Tide seven point right off the bat. Some questionable calls in the Tides favor also help the guys in red. Something IM sure Houston Nutt and company will address next the next few days on the practice field.

Something I also wanted to see first hand was what the Tide had as far as a kicking game, FG's especially. I was happy to see that didn't get any better in that regard although from 30 yds in, the guy seem solid. The edge goes to the Hogs and the exciting freshman kicking specialist, Alex Tejada. Alex showed in week one he has the leg to do well in the SEC and will be the one next Saturday with the stronger leg.

No doubt next week on the road will be smash mouth football. At a level we all know to well. If the hogs Knock a few teeth out of Hall's mouth first time he goes down field, and sends a message early, we might be able to stay with the nations #1 team. If not there's no stopping god's gift to football.

keep in mind that the Crimson Tide fans are just one bunch of loud mouths that think the Razorback's are just one player. IM real excited about getting a chance to introduce them to Peyton Hillis, Felix Jones, London Crawford, Jonathan Luigs, Antwain Robinson, Matterral Richardson and Matt Hewitt. And they have no clue about the fantastic play thus far of our freshmen. Could be an eye opening experience.

Personally I think the Defense will rise to the occasion and make their presents felt. I would be shocked if they didn't. Reggie Herring will have the guys ready to go with what he seen from John Billy Bob Parker Wilson. Though he did manage a descent game today, next week will be a different story.

The only thing yu should of noticed was Tiffen. He's the man who won the game for you last year. The only thing I will say is his performance was about what you should expect with 47 and 49 yd. field goals.

Should be a good game.

He didn't win the game for us, he was part of your failure. We won the game on a Mustain to Cleveland pass play. Please, don't come to my threads with that sort of BS. Best thing that kid could have doen is transfer. The arrogant punks of T_town will never let him forget it. IM surprise the don't boo Tryone Prothro for getting injured a few years back. Tide fans needs to let it go.

You know the last thing that will go through Alabama players' brains before Arkansas wins?

Darren McFadden's stiff arm.

No... Shula having no nuts and Tiffen shankin' kicks won the game for you. The Mama's boy helped you hobble to a close win at home. This year McFadden is at full strength so you should play him on D sinmce that's all you guys talk about. McFadden's good but he's not the reason you win those games. He's a big part but he's a nobody without that line.

Yes, yes it will. I'm looking forward to it.

We respect Arkansas and we look forward to a great game filled with alot of offense and some wicked defensive hits. You may not respect us, but that is what makes Alabama, Alabama. We always respect our opponent. And you may not respect our fans, but this is irrelevant. It is all about what happens between the goal posts!

Good point! It should be a great game, and nothing any fan says helps or hurts a team's chances. It'll get settled on the field. That said, I love the smack talk... especially after one talker is proved wrong.

I respect all the teams in the SEC. I've never seen a conference that proves the "anyone can beat anyone on any day" adage like the SEC does.

I want a better game than both teams played last year. I hate sloppy football and that didn't even feel like a win, just a relief.

They maybe better then in past but until they continously start winning 7-9 games a year and beating more than 2 SEC teams then that would be a good argument..thats not to say they wont beat us though:brick:

I think this game will be a good one. Arkansas has no D tho. To be there 2nd gm of the year, they are going to make misstakes that will cost them the game. Bama has proven they can shut down a teams star player, now we have to shut down DMac just like we did last year.

I think D-MAC was out, or still hampered by that toe injury. We haven't played him at his prime. It will be an awesome display of D if we can shut him down like we did Bennet and Nickson. Rolando McClain is the middle Line Backer version of D-Mac, should make for a good game.

Alabama opened up this season with an offensive showcase against Western Carolina but left the game with many questioning the ability of our defense. At least 50% of the people on this board predicted a Vandy upset of Bama. The defense stepped up big yesterday and the game was never close. Still, nothing but disrespect for Bama and its very solid coaching staff. Sure...Arky is better than Vanderbilt and the game will be quite a challenge but I suppose most of you still have it in your head that Bama will crumble and end up 5-7 or worse. If it is left up to Casey Dick to beat Bama in Tuscaloosa then I see a solid win for the Tide. If McFadden goes over 150 yards then we have problems. I see us winning a close ball game similar to last year's. Sorry if that sounds delusional. :closedeye

Good O-Lines don't make nobodies into probable #1 picks, 1st Team All-American, Doak Walker Award Winners, or Heisman Runner Ups.

Lets be serious.

Also, McFadden had a huge 60-something yard run verse Alabama as a frosh when he stiff armed the safety to the ground before outrunning the whole Alabama secondary.

6....

It was 23-17 at the half...

Arkansas' defense had a horrible second quarter.... Omar Haugabook was only 6 of 26 for 41 yards in the second half. They were playing towel girls in the 4th quarter so that last TD is pretty much irrelevent.

considering you're expected to pull away in the second half because of depth and conditioning issues, the first half of the game usually is the only indication one could get from a cupcake team.

So I guess our second team did a pretty good job of shutting the amazing Omar down in the second half then.

With the return of Marcus Harrison, look for JPW to make more mistakes than Bama fans expect a Bama Qb to make. Expect JPW to make more mistakes than Casey Dick.

What film does Bama have to watch? I don't think Arkansas ran more than 8 plays the entire game.... They did what they had to do to win and nothing more. Just my opinion, but I don't think Bama has anything to watch to prepare for Arkansas. They can't simulate Darren McFadden or Felix Jones in Practice, they don't have an athlete who is that good. He will because the game will be put in his hands. Casey Dick will throw down field a couple times, but most of his passes will be safe dumps to the flat to Hillis while the majority of the defense is glued to McFadden and Jones.

personally I dont see Troy as a weak team. They were able to score nicely against Florida and I could see them playing a very close game and possibly beating Vanderbilt, considering the way Vandy played last week.

Alabama has had the luxury of having 2 games worth of experience and Arkansas has had the luxury of facing a possibly better prepared opponent then Bama has faced yet.

It will all come to how the defenses preform I think. In the pickems I have Arkansas taking the big W with this one.

I didn't watch the Troy - Florida game, but I know Florida was up 42 at the half. Troy had a big third quarter and I'm not sure if was against FLorida's 1st or 2nd team defense. I think Troy is good, they are better than most of the lower level schools. But they just don't have the depth or talent that the bigger SEC schools have. Troy is a team that keeps Bigger teams honest and playing hard.
