My prediction AU 28-3.... The O wakes up from being slapped around last game. The D gets pissed and USF never sees the end zone

31-10 Auburn. I was gonna say 28-10, but Blake beat me to it.
I don't see AU having two close calls at home in back-to-back weeks.

USF up 14 - 3
I really wish Mike Ford had qualified. He's a beast. He was cleared through the NCAA Clearinghouse after his 1 year at Hargrave but the UofA Admissions still wouldn't clear him. Shula fought with Admissions over that for year.

I've got some major concerns about Cox. I don't think I've ever seen a fifth year senior look so uncomfortable. Good thing the running game is in tact.

I KNOW I've never seen one duck while throwing a pass because he was scared of impending contact. The first thing a QB learns is that he absolutely has to stand in there. Cox couldn't even see where he was throwing the ball on that play because he put his head down long before the USF player even got there.

That Auburn D is the TRUTH!!
Auburn's D is strong, but that series was all about USF shooting themselves in the foot.
Oh...these guys are just teasing me now. I hope Auburn just kills them now. They suck. They're acting like a Division 2 school about to pull off a big upset.
And Auburn's O has done all they can to give the game away.

09-08-2007, 11:09 PM
Auburn's defense stands strong once again.
AS for the fg kicking... It has a lot to do with Auburn almost blocking all 3 (well they did block 1). But they're forcing him to kick badly
And that time, he had time and made it
AuburnandGamecockGirl
09-08-2007, 11:10 PM
I am glad someone has confidence in our team tonight...lol
Crap...fieldgoal to tie the game up....
the Prodigy
09-08-2007, 11:10 PM
I don't know if that offense is so much bipolar as it is anemic.... If they survive this game, they are going to have to fix that huge turnover problem.... if USF were just about any SEC team other than Ole Miss or Miss St. They would be up by 28 instead of tied.
TigerEyes1914
09-08-2007, 11:11 PM
Maybe our offense will show up now! They seem to play better when there is a sense of urgency
Cox sucks. And they'd better score a td here, no fgs

USF's coach is stupid.... not going for the win there was retarded. On the ONE yard line.... putting his 1/5 kicker out there? Winning in OT against Auburn is an absurd chance to take when you could win it. I thought the offense was going to revolt, they looked like they were going to refuse to come off the field.
Is Tubby an idiot?

Who would that be? USF looked awful, and did one of the worst coaching jobs in my memory. They got 5 turnovers, and not a single point off them. And missed what, 4 field goals. USF played a pathetic game, isn't a Top 40 team, and still beat Auburn.

Even though we hadn't been playing well all night, I still think that Tubs will be hammered for not calling those time outs and trying. You never know what kind of outcome it might have been if he had at least called a time out, tried to get closer, called one more time out and kicked a field goal.

That's fine and dandy, but I'm not blind, either. USF sucked... the other team just sucked worse. And what USF accomplished last year has absolutely no bearing on what they'll do this year. Anybody think that team would've beaten WVU tonight? Of course not... they'd have gotten blown out by 70. 1st off, congratulations to USF and Jim Leavitt. With this win, you've arrived. I hope no other BCS teams look you over just because your football program is only 11 years old. Your wins tonight coupled with being in the same conference as Louisville, West Virginia, Cincinnati, and Rutgers mean that you will be making noise for years to come. Your QB is extremely mobile and dangerous and Mike Ford is a gamemaker at RB. I'm not gonna describe the negatives I saw in USF tonight because they won in the end, and we lost.
Now that I've gotten that out of the way, I have this to say. Tuberville, we all respect you as a great coach and understand that you and your staff know more about the game then any of us fans do, but you have got to seriously reevaluate the confidence that you have in Brandon Cox as QB. I say this because it seems like he has lost confidence in himself. There were no excuses this week. Our O-Line looked much improved, our Defense was solid, and I was very impressed with Wes's Field Goals. Mario Fannin had a good 1st game and I'm not gonna complain too hard about the 2 dropped balls because those were freshman mistakes and I have confidence that over the next 2 weeks Coach Gran will make sure that doesn't happen again.
I understand that Brandon Cox is a 5th year senior, that he's been able to take a lick and keep on ticking, that he's the leader of our offense. I just don't think Brandon looks like he has the mental confidence in himself that Tubs, Borges, and everyone in the Auburn Family expect from our QB. You can only hide from being hit so many times and physically we all know that Brandon is 1 bad hit away from the end of his career at Auburn. Tuberville is a man that believes in loyalty and I have to think that Al Borges thinks the same way because there are no signs that anyone wants to give Blake Field or Neil Caudle(yes I know he's injured) a chance. The easy thing to say is "we'll get though this season and then the era of Kodi Burns begins next season", but I don't even know.
Tubs, give the other QBs a shot these next 2 weeks and to Brandon Cox, I hope you're mentally confident in yourself as a player because if you're not, then it won't matter how many times you can get yourself up after sacks or being bruised and banged.

Parity in college football. Things are just getting tighter, and there's no room for missteps. We're still THE dominant conference, but the other guys are catching up, and you can't win without your A-game.

Parity is something I think is good for the whole league.... But the SEC has always fueled the flames of competition amongst its members, but now it seems, anyone who gets a shot at the SEC will bring their A-game, and then some. SEC teams need to buckle down more and realize that there are more teams out there that can play football. It is a hard mentality to overcome, to give someone respect who you may not think deserves it. But they are going to have to start if they want to stay on top.
