I can hear those war bells now! The heat glues my shirt to my chest with sticky anticipation as I rendezvous with my batallion to take that sacred ground. The sun yields its fierce rays to the glory of the moment. I lead my tiny batallion toward that darkened flank encountering hordes enemy troops who block our way. We are marred in maroon entheusiasm, I fear we will never reach the assigned stronghold before we are over run. We employ battlefield tactics to gain our footing and soon arrive at our section. Scouts are sent for supplies as we rally with other arriving troops and attempt to make friends with the natives. There is a lull before the rush. The treaty has been broken; blood is spilled in the grass. Our force is once again called to action and the fierce roar that is College Football ensues.

I woke up this morning and smelled football. I ran into Brandon Spikes and Maurkice Pouncey and wished them both the best of luck this weekend. Maurkice will be starting in place of injured Phil Trautwein, making him the first true freshman to start on the O-Line since 1992. Can't wait to see these boys hit the field! Here's to LSU and Mississippi State getting things going tonight!

I don't really want to know what sticky anticipation is, but I am glad it is football season.
