I watched the Couture-Gonzaga fight and the St. Pierre-Koshcheck (sp? for all those) and whoever fought before them. I really enjoyed the Couture Gonzaga fight. Couture can really move around for a 44 year old. I was sure gonzaga had his number after he knocked out Mierko Cro Cop but that was only his 8th proffesional fight...Couture had all the experience, and the guts. St. Pierre out wrestled the 4 time all american, that was something to see...St. Pierre is a hell of an athlete

Roger Huerta really dominated his fight too. He and Stevenson should get a shot at the 155 title.

next fight is Henderson/Jackson free on Spike. have you seen that card?

I haven't got a chance to look at the full fight card.. I know they named it Champion vs. Champion, Dan Henderson is scary

Couture broke his arm (and still won)? That must have been awesome.

I still think UFC should be just two guys off the street tackling each other, throwing haymakers, busting out each others teeth, breaking noses, legs, ligaments, and bashing each others heads on the ground until someone leaves in an ambulance. Thats true fighting. IMO, UFC seems to be glorified boxing and kickboxing.

Ahh, that's where you are wrong. Many of these guys are D-I wrestling all americans, jujitsu world champions, judo champions etc. They have also been blessed with good genes... In UFC or WEC or Pride Fighting the fighters are well versed in all forms of fighting. Most every fighter knows some jujitsu for submissions, obviously. It is amazing to see these guys work on the ground. NO ONE and I mean NO ONE could walk off the street and brawl with these guys. PERIOD. Think of the toughest guy you have every known with no training and he would last about twelve seconds with a trained MMA fighter... these guys are athletes just like a baseball player or an olympic gymnast

Hell yes I watched it and loved it, watched all the fights but my memory of some is fuzzy.

EDIT:

75 is going to be great. I want Hendo to destroy rampage, but I don't think it'll happen

I don't care for it as much since they seperated the weights. Thats what made it great to me. Now, I would rather watch Boxing.

Nah, I didn't think you were bashing it.... I had the same opinion a couple of years ago before I really got into the sport and started learning more about it.

I've tried to watch it on Spike TV and I just can't seem to get into it.

He's dead to me also....

Glorified kickboxing? UFC is what works, becaues anything and everything is allowed. If guys went in there and tried to fight with the style you described, they'd be the only ones with broken noses/limbs/etc.

these guys are such disciplined athletes....it's kinda ignorant to say otherwise (not a shot at KN)
