LSU Coach Les Miles was still looking at all the facts around the recent arrest of linebacker Derrick Odom, who was jailed briefly Thursday night. Odom was charged with various misdemeanor charges of allegedly threatening LSU student Austin Gaffney and damaging the student's apartment and automobile on July 28. Gaffney's father Steve Gaffney confirmed Friday that he is considering dropping the charges if Odom pays restitution. Miles said that if the charges are dropped, he would likely lift Odom's suspension. Odom is a red-shirt freshman from Jackson, Miss., who has not had an previous legal problems as a member of the LSU team.

Miles said he was not aware that linebacker Ace Foyil - one of several LSU players on the scene at Gaffney's apartment complex near LSU on July 28 - received a misdemeanor summons from Baton Rouge Police for disturbing the peace by public intoxication and for also threatening the Gaffneys. Baton Rouge Police believe Gaffney and Foyil had a disagreement before Odom got involved. The incidents at Gaffney's apartment complex remain under investigation.
