James Bates is hilarious....he hosts the "Gridiron Greats" on SunSports that shows all the old UF games...he usually gets Wuerffel or Matthews or a couple of the other former greats to go fishin' and they talk about the game with the former players after commercials...he told one story about Spurrier....seems Spurrier was pretty sure UF was gonna whip f$u in the Sugar Bowl for the NC...he even went as far as to pull Bates to the side and say..."I want you and one of the other guys to put me up on your shoulders and carry me out on the field after we whip those nole...alright?" Bates said sure coach....after the game, Bates said he was so excited, he forgot to carry the coach...a couple of other players did it instead....Bates said in the locker-room following the game, Spurs came up to him and said, "Damn Batesy, I thought you were gonna carry me out on the field? What...were you too hung-over from last night?"
