I love living in Roanoke. I'm going to freakin NAIL these stupid Hokie fans on this.

did you watch the game, Frank? (http://www.roanoke.com/sports/vtfootball/wb/126791)

I've watched this game several times. I'm unclear on a few things:
1. Why did Georgia wait until the 2nd half (when we were down 21-3) to spring our knowledge of their plans?
2. How does snooping in practice help you forecast when Sean Glennon is going to zing those horrible passes, resulting in interceptions?
3. Is it cheating for Stafford to check off at the line because he sees something amiss in that defense?
and finally,
4. How could we know that THEY didn't know that we were going to do an onside kick? I mean, the Hokies are all about special teams.

1) Burton forked up the formatting with his insane laughter.
2) Many coaches are closing down practices, not because of spies, but because journalists have the utmost desire to post every single thing that happens which can be really annoying when you're trying to gameplan with a hobbled star or put in new plays.

Same thing is happening at Georgia. SID Claude Felton got wind of Chip Towers of the AJC blogging live during practice and basically limited that. I don't have a problem with coaches doing that. But to to infer that the Dawgs spied on the Hokies practices AND THUS CHANGED THE OUTCOME OF THE GAME is absolutely ludicrous. Anybody that watched the game knows that.

If you really read the article all he says is that it thought it "hurt" his team. It's not like he said that was the reason they lost. I'm not defending the move, just trying to point out the context of what was being said.

Reading the above posts you would think the guy said "We're closing practice because if we had done that we would have won the Chick-Fil-A bowl."

"We practiced out at Georgia Tech and we let all kinds of people through there ... people we didn't really know," Beamer said. "And I thought it hurt us in the bowl game. I'm not blaming anybody ...

Okay, I'm cool with this.

... but I thought Georgia knew exactly what we were doing in several situations.

He just had to do it didn't he.

If he only hadn't said this then he would be in the clear but put those two quotes together and he is clearly still pissed at the loss and making up excuses.
