ESPN.com has ranked all college football programs over the past decade and LSU finished ninth. The survey took into account a school's record, tradition, attendance, coaches and support. ESPN noted while Coach Les Miles has kept the winning tradition going at LSU, the decade started off with some mediocre Gerry DiNardo teams. USC was ranked first and Ohio State was second. Way down the list, Louisiana Tech was 87th, Tulane was 89th, Louisiana-Lafayette was 112th and Louisiana-Monroe was 113th. Read the list here. (http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=2947988)

Good find Geaux. Soooooooo glad the Hallman/DiNardo nightmares are over at LSU. Not surprised that they have the pretty boys of USCal #1. Won't be long before LSU takes over that #1 position! Man, I'm fired up to get this season started.

Hallman's not that bad. He just had a fluke with you guys, what being right between his Brett Favre coaching days at Southern Miss and his coaching days at Muscle Shoals HS here in Alabama. And Gerry brought back the magic, otherwise Saban would've walked into LSU with a bare cupboard a la Sly Croom when he came to Mississippi State.

You know, I just love the self-serving nature of this list. The argument against LSU is that they weren't really good for the first 3-4 years of the decade....the argument against FSU is that their run of top 5 finishes ended 5 years ago....yet somehow, USCw gets a pass for their virtual irrelevance for their first 3-4 years!! Whatever!! If you're going to make a list representing a specific period of time, then the first game should count as equally as the last! Too often, these lists are a representation of the last half of the time period!!
My Top 10 would look like this:
1. Ohio State
2. Florida St.
3. Oklahoma
4. Miami
5. Texas
6. USC
7. Florida
8. Tennessee
9. Michigan
10. LSU (NT gives them the nod over Georgia)
