Who really wants to see this guy break the record?

Who cares.
A-Rod will break it in 5 years. Big whoop if Barry is ontop for 5 years.

I don't, but it's a moot point. He's going to.

The indifference tells me that nobody wants this record broken. This is one of the most revered numbers in professional sport, and to have it broken by a cheater and an a**hole speaks volumes of the way the world is today. I grew up a baseball fan and I don't want Bonds to appear in any record book on my watch.

The fact remains that he will break the record and will be in the record books, but like Seppeh said, Alex Rodriguez is headed there in a hurry and unaided by illegal substances regardless of what Jose Canseco spouts to sell books.

cowherd made a good point today. if jose had anything on alex, he would have printed it in the first book. it's not one of those "oh yeah, i forgot" things concerning one of the best players in MLB.

Very true. I didn't think about that. I hate Jose Canseco. He used to be one of my favorite players when I was younger, but he's nothing but a douche and a rat.

Canseco was one of mine too growing up. I agree...he's a real sleazeball now that we've opened our eyes to reality. Anyway...I'm passionate like Neyland is....totally against Bonds. It's gonna happen....but A-Rod will more than likely break it. Wish I had faith enough in Griffey to do it...don't think he'll last that long. Would be great to see someone from Cincy do it.

Would be nice to see Griffey do it. He's hurt too much though. He won't last that long.

if griffey would have stayed healthy he would have killed the record! there's no telling what he would have done and then no one would even care about body boosting bonds...
While I don't want bonds to break it, I heard some interesting numbers the other day. Barry Bonds has hit this many homeruns in 3,000 less at-bats than Hank Aaron. Further, Babe Ruth had 4,000 less at-bats than Hank Aaron. The Babe was on pace to hit like 850+ homeruns. Given that, you could also argue that longevity has a lot to do with the record, and it doesn't matter what they were on pace to do. I would love to see Griffey Jr. break it, and I am sure he was on pace at one point in his career to shatter Aarons record. A-rod is on pace to shatter it, and I don't mind that too much.

Now hold on....how can you say that with any certainty?? I don't think there are any baseball players at this point that are above suspicion!! I could care less about Canseco as well, but I'm not about to blindly put my faith in one guy over another!!
BTW....I Love the new Signature!!
