Just watched some of First Take this morning and on first and 10 they had that its possible that in 2011 eaither an "extra game," or a 4 team playoff was in in the makings. Thoughts?
One of the announcers not Skip Bayless was saying that 8 teams should be playing for the undisputed national title. I feel this is not the way to go. Having just four teams i feel is the right move out of the two scenrios. If you have 8 teams that adds on three games. These kids are physical specimens but at this young of an age if the games persist like they are will ruin their bodies. I was just wondering everyones thoughts on the proposed playoff system. Although im not to excited about it because its in 2011.

The only playoff I'd like to see is a plus-one system, which would really be like the final-four in basketball. Only four teams go, you have to win your conference, and if you've lost more than one game--you're out. I don't like the idea of a playoff in NCAA football because I love the regular season so much and it makes every game like a playoff game; but I also hate to see an undefeated Auburn team not have a chance at the title like in '04. I think a plus-one (four-team playoff) would be the best balance of the two.

I honestly think the BCS has been getting it right recently. Granted AU should have gotten a shot but for the most part the system is working. 8 games is to much. I agree it will take away from some of the regular season. 4 teams i feel would be the best bet if the BCS is taken out.

Did ESPN also report the recent rise in their level of gayness?

At least there is a mini playoff system, but after 3 or 4 years of it people will want 8 teams.

No team would feel safe to play 16 games in a season. Be pretty hard to win a NC...

I'd like to see an eight team play off. It would not be that big of a deal as far as added wear and tear on the players if they would take the regular season and reduce it down to 10 regular season games. Let's be honest, every team in the SEC could drop two out of conference cream puffs from the schedule. they could organize the nations teams (exclude Sunbelt Conference and other such teams) into eight conferences and make each play a championship game. then take each conference champion and put them into an eight team playoff.
