Thoughts about "Plus One" game in 2011?

Washington Post reports BCS wants to move to this

this is a appeasement/compromise for what we really want. hopefully, the BCS contract will not be revamped and the fans speak out emphatically for a playoff. your thoughts?

There would still be problems with it.

What if there are only two undefeated teams? There wouldnt need to be another game because there would be no controversy. There just needs to be a playoff. 8 team. It could happen. There just wouldnt be a one month break between the regular season and post season.

Playoffs would be nice and would finally settle who's better than who arguement conference wise and determine a true NC team, but IMHO, the plus 1 format is a start and would bring a little satisfaction in the meantime. My question is, how would this work exactly, there were the 4 traditional BCS bowl this year plus the one NC game. Would there just be the 4 traditional BCS bowls and then whomever was ranked 1 and 2 after those would be selected to play in the NC bowl game?

I'm all for it. Gives smaller schooles that don't travel well or bring X amount of fans and dollars a chance at the big one
