I know it's a different football but being a national holiday... our U20 team led be the underachieving Freddy Adu lead their World Cup bracket after a 6-1 win over Poland. Freddy came alive with a hat trick' next up Brazil.

I don't think there is even a soccer forum here
This does NOT belong in the SEC Football forum. Please post topics in their correct forum. For this, the Water Fountain would be the correct forum. Thanks!

Soccer/Futbol is the beautiful game. It's good that our U-20 team is winning because the national team is busy getting hammered at Copa America.

You know that USC has a futbol team but they have to play in C-USA? Same with Kentucky.

I think we will be more competitive than everyone expects in the 2010 World Cup. We really need Beasely and Johnson to regain their form and for Dempsey and Adu to continue to improve. I really like Convey is well, he is a master in the midfield.

I'm looking for Justin Mapp to stop making such horrible mistakes and play the way he can. Gotta cheer for the local kid from just outside Jackson, MS.

Don't forget Braley, Fabelhabour (sp?) and Onyewu (which may lose his starting spot). Plus the U.S. is getting pounded in Copa America with Keller in goal and the sub team. The tourny just helps us build depth. Our best aren't there. Plus Twellmen isn't that bad.
Almost forgot Olsen as well. he's been good. I have only seen the Argentina game and for 65 minutes they ran with a team that could beat anyone in the world. Tevez and Crespo are sick.

I know we're running a B-team at Copa America but losing to Paraguay still sucks, especially the way they lost.
Onyewu shouldn't lost his starting spot. He was one of the few bright spots of the 2006 World Cup team.

Agreed and that phantom call in the World Cup was BS. I was watching the game in a restaurant in Mexico City and all of the Mexican fans were adamant about it being a complete BS call. Is Onyewu still playing for Liege, I haven't really followed him. And I wouldn't worry too much about Keller having trouble in the net because Howard will definitely be our keeper for the 2010 campaign.

Gooch is on loan to Newcastle United right now from Liege.

Right, I knew that. Is Howard still at Everton? Also, I forgot where Beasely went, I know it's an English club but I forgot which one he left PSV for.

Beasley is playing for Rangers in the Scottish Premier League, and Howard is still at Everton.

The kid in Onyewu's spot is better than him. Keller should of retired not McBride.

I agree. Beasley and Dempsey need to be the leaders of the '10 team. Donovan is a pretty decent player, but he's a bit of a headcase when on the big stage.
