I cannot say "THANK YOU" enough to our men and women who are serving (and have served) in the greatest military in the world--the United States of America Military. You are the true heros of this nation. The sacrifices you make every day, we sincerely say "THANK YOU."

I hope you'll take the time to watch this link below. Man, I'm proud to be American!

I served combat aviation (combat helicopters) from 1984-1987, Nat'l guard aviation 1988-1991

I remember in 1987 being on alert, armed, packed and ready to go, in a hangar w/C 130s packed w/our aircraft and baggage, when we bombed Ghadafi, Libya and having a silent moment w/emotion I didn't recall having prior to that moment or since........we never left and I guess Im glad but my heart breaks as I watch sentimental and poignant tributes like that, sometimes I feel guilty because I didnt serve in actual combat.....I got out of the Nat'l guard two months before the first desert storm

I remember the most emotional times were mail call......it seeeeeeems so little and insignificant unless you're there..........pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeze if you know anyone in the military, friend or family, write them as often as you can, even if it seems like a chore, simply talking about sports, tv shows, goings on in town, it doesnt matter............my father literally wrote me every single day for three years....he died a year ago and its what I thanked him for over his grave because it was so powerful to me, that simple gesture, that took no sweat, sacrifice or money cept the stamp..........you can't imagine the overwhelming feeling of having your name called out at mail call

Especially being secluded from civilian life for extended periods of time. You served whether you served in combat or not by sacrificing a period of your life to be ready if called upon. My dad had a similiar experience during the Bay Of Pigs and he was on plane waiting on the green light to jump but it never come.

So were you a pilot, gunner ....?

I am glad there are guys in my family crazy enough to answer the call. MY Uncle leaves his command at Fort Knox for B-dad soon. He volunteer when Patreus called. I have a few cousins already there.

The sacrifice of our soldiers should never be taken lightly and I pray each minute goes quicker getting them home. (did all I did not to get political.)

I hope everyone has a safe 4th today. Going to spend some much needed time with the family. Again, thank you to all those who have made this freedom possible.
