Days after trading defenseman, Kimmo Timonen and forward Scott Hartnell to Philadelphia for the first round pick originally traded for forward Peter Forsberg, the Nashville Predators trade Tomas Vokoun, one of the leagues premier goalies for a 1st round pick in '08 and two second round picks in this year's draft. They used the pick reaquired from the Flyers to draft C Jonathon Blum.

I have to say, I am going to miss hearing the chant of "Kooooooun!" after an amazing save.

I'm gonna miss him.......but he hasn't been the same since before the lockout. He has been a no-show in the last two playoffs and squandered our first place after he came back from the thumb injury this year.

LETS GO MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASON!!!!!!

LETS GO MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASON!!!!!! I hope Mason't flashes of brilliance were not just that - flashes. he did have the second highest save percentage in the league last year, but he only played in, like, 40 games or so. If they have so much confidence in Mase, why didn't we see him in the playoffs?

See, that was another reason I think Vokoun got traded. I've heard that there was alot of tension in the lockerroom when Vokoun was coming back and saying that he 'deserved' the number one spot. I've also heard that the team is alot closer to Mason than Vokoun. Again I don't know how much truth there is to that but thats just what I've heard.

No question we were going to lose one or the other. Mason has made it very clear that he wants to be a starting goaltender in the NHL whether it be with the Preds or another team. I love Mason. Him being our goalie adds a certain mystique to our lineup. I think a more pertinent question is who do you replace Timomen and Hartnell with??? Are we resigning Kariya? I think we need to add size at the forward position, not subtract. The emergence of Weber makes the Timomen loss a little easier to bear, but he was our best defenseman, a captain, and the QB of our defense. Big loss IMO.

Eh, he was getting old. He was injury prone. Even though he never was out for any signifcant time. You could tell he slowed as the season went on. Weber easily takes his spot to quarterback the powerplay. And I say Sullivan get the C.

Who replaces Harts? That I don't know.

They better make some moves in Free Agency. There's some big names out there.
