I've seen a bunch of guys making these lately, so I figured I'd put up a thread for them.
Sabanocchio's work inspired me to make one of my own. This is the first one I've ever made, so I'll have some things to tweak here and there before the look great, but I'm pretty happy with the way this one came out. Feel free to use it.
If anyone else has a wallpaper they want to share, post it here.

Looks good. Sabanocchio's work has made me get back into Photo Shop. It's been a while since I've messed with it but it is fun. I think if more people joined in it would be a good idea to have a "Photo Shop" forum for anyone to post their work. Just a suggestion.

I got a pretty good one that I'm using right now from Gatorpaper.com. They have a bunch of pretty good ones, but not quite as good as Sabanoccio's.

The best parts of my wallpaper are in the bottom left and bottom right corners of the AU logo. In one you can see Goves nailing Wilson and in the other you see Blackmon and co. folding DJ Hall in half (you can see Hall's helmet at the bottom).
Oh, and the cheerleader...

How do you do your backgrounds, Auf? That looks killer.
How I made the wall:
(I'm sure I'm forgetting a lot of steps as I did it over 2 days)
1. New document, navy background
2. Made a pattern and added the texture dots
3. Then I did the 'lightning bolt' type effect in the background using brushes
4. Grabbed the AU logo, pasted and re-sized, also did some color changes to make the orange less bright. Then I duplicated the layer a few times, set the bottom one to overlay and put motion blurs on the top 2. Messed with the opacity of all 3 to make it look nice.
5. Then I grabbed all the pics of the players/cheerleader. I found ones I liked in certain spots, cut them to fit, desaturated them and set them on overlay. Then I messed around with the brightness and contrast of each to make them match up. Did a little bit of blurring on the edges too to make it flow better.

Thanks. Sounds easy.
All in all it took between 1.5-2 hours, probably just because I've never done one before.

There is a filters program called Eye Candy for CS3, look it up. It's got a lot of cool different filters to add onto the ones that already come with CS3.

I'm pretty proud of that one....You can tell I put a lot into it. Got chill bumps when looking at some of the NCG photos. I'm a dork. Thanks for the rep.
Yeah man, if I knew how to do that stuff I would do it myself, but you're the one with the expertise... that's sweet stuff man makes me wish the calendar would just jump to September 1st.

How do you do that design in the background? Is that a tool or are you just using the swirl tool to swirl random lines?

Pretty sure he's using an image thats achieved by taking a elapsed-shutter-time photo while swinging a flashlight around in circular motions. Looks very cool.
