Following a popular theme around here and wanting to start my own thread, let's have your top 5 screamers:

(Next on the list, top 5 "pron" movies) :D

1. The Evil Dead Series- Oh, man. Does it get any better than this? Bruce Campbell is my favorite actor of all time. I simply cannot believe that Hollywood doesn't recognize his talents. The second and third movies add a solid mix of humor to the horror, which at first might seem like polar opposites, but strangely enough make a potent movie brew worth watching over and over again.

2. The Exorcist- Being Catholic and young when I saw this, I didn't sleep for a week. My parents forbade me from watching this, but all it took was a sleepover with a friend (with slightly more liberal parents) to remedy this. To this day, I'm still not sure if that was a good thing.

3. House on Haunted Hill- For the life of me, I don't understand why this movie wasn't more popular. This movie gave me the creeps. The score was an interesting rock mix with pretty good characters. (The owner of the house made me laugh several times.)

4. Night of the Living Dead- A classic and one of the best ever. Not only did this movie kick the genre into high gear, it was also one of the first movies to feature an African-American lead.

5. Puppet Master- Yes, Full Moon Productions cannibalized this series by sucking it dry with horrible sequels (after part 3.) Still, this movie introduced me to indy horror and I've been hooked ever since.

I heard The Hills Have Eyes is good. My roommate usually doesn't like horror movies and she said I would like it. The Descent was really good too.

Yeah, my roomie mentioned the hitcher too.
I enjoyed Blair Witch the first time through.

Funny story: When my ex and I were in the theater watching it, in the last scene of the movie when it's building suspense, someone up in the top of the theater opened a door or something that was up there and a collective gasp, some yelps, followed by sighs of relief, once everyone turned around and saw what it was, ensued.

I really like Justin Long, but even he couldn't save those movies.

I love horror movies, but I absolutely hated Jeepers Creepers. It started out fine, but the closer it got to the end, the more I was repelled by it. I don't really have a concrete reason, but I just flat didn't like it. (The sequel was better, though.)

Signs - reminds me very much of how it is and looks up here in NW Ohio. And I live on a farm in the middle of nowhere.
Childs Play - chuckie
Nightmare on elm street
