Seriously, we hear that Darts, Pool, Bowling, and Poker are sports, but can we honestly say that? No offense to any of the professional Darts players out there but in my opinion a sport is an athletic activity that you actually have to train and prepare for. That means consuming alcohol won't in turn make you play better. Speaking of which, did any of you guys catch the John Daly interview on 60 Minutes this past Sunday?

I would say that Darts would be a game not a sport.

If you can smoke while playing it, it's not a sport.

I think there is a difference between atheletics and sports. Sports is a more general term that can be used to cover such activities as auto racing, golf, billiards, and even darts IMO. But none of these are atheletic activities.

I for one always hated it when cheerleaders claimed that cheerleading was a sport! ITS NOT, its a competitive organization.

I would however say that racing is a sport. Darts, poker, etc.. are all games

As far as golf and auto racing, you have to be in shape. You look at pros in these two sports and they all look as if they do some kind of physical activity IMO. Most of 'em anyway. I think John Daly believes 12oz. curls are a workout. Try walking 18 holes and see what I mean.

Darts can be a sport. I used to play darts in a local church-league (the large wooden/steel tipped darts mind you). I recall a few errant throws sending people ducking for cover. lol (No. It ain't a sport)

What irks me is poker being on ESPN!!! Poker!! Five fat slobs sitting around a table drinking and smoking... playing cards! What's next... competitive knitting! To think I had to change cable providers just to get SPEED so I can watch Formula 1 and Motocross.

Speaking of darts. Did anyone ever have lawn darts (Jarts) as a kid?

Yeah, and I still have them. I remember when they took them off the market because people were hitting other people in the foot and head.
