I've been keeping up with this on foxsports.com live leaderboard. I have a feeling that whoever is on top of the leaderboard at the end of the day will be at least 2 over. Have you seen Phil's card for the day? He was doing good until #7. Then he rolled off a double, bogie, bogie, double! He finished the day at 77 and is 11 over for the tournament so far. They are saying on the radio thae he will still probably make the cut though.

+11 wont have any problem making the cut unless someone goes absolutely nuts scoring which I think is near to impossible at Oakmont.

Is there any chance someone can come back from +9 at this point?

I was in a tournament out there earlier this month. i really enjoyed the course. Struggled with the greens though. My home course had aerated the green a couple weeks before I played down there and I had got use to really going at the ball with my putter. I had several go long to say the least wile I was at Ol' Colony.

They can be fast but right now theyre letting them grow because of the rain situation.

I think with this course it would be pretty tough. Their score is probably only going to go up. I do think that the winning score might be close to 9 over though. I'm thinking the winner will be in the +5 to +9 range.

Zach has to just keep it in the fairway and he'll do fine. His putting is good enough to win if he will.

Are ya'll talking about the amateur from Alabama? Where is he at right now?

We were talking about Zach Johnson. Harrell is a Bama golfer and hes at +11 which isnt terrible by any stretch if he can keep it there but that would be tough.

OK. They mentioned a Bama golfer on the radio a little bit ago but i didn't catch all of it. If I was at +11 after two days there I'd be glad. To be honest I'd probably be +11 after four holes the way they have the course set up.

I like to see the courses like this humble some of these players. it's like most of us feel when we go play. I think it is also a true mental toughness test, it turns everybody into a grinder. The Masters is still the Crown Jewel out of the majors though.

Tigers within 1 after Saturday. Its gonna be a good one. Theres a bunch of golfers at +4. Might be one good finish. And I totally agree ghost, its fun to watch 'em be human and cry like little school girls and yes, Augusta is the best.

Once again Tiger was the bridesmaid. Angel Cabrera didnt fold under Wood's pressure and became the first Argentinian to win the U.S. Open. Once Tiger could get on the leaders heels they would fold like a cheap suit or go tits up but for the second time this year the leader didnt. Zach Johnson didnt flinch at Augusta and Cabrera didnt at Oakmont. Is the tide turning for the PGA tour as a whole? Is Tiger finally looked at as a great golfer and a human being? Can he shake a field up just by mentioning his name ? We shall see come the British Open. Stay tuned....same Bat time...same Bat channell .

Where are they holding the British Open this year? If it's at the Old course I think he'll skunk the field. He pretty much owns that course.

no no no my War Eagle golfing friend. Its being played at Carnoustie which is lovingly called CarNASTY by the golfing world. Its said to be the hardest course the Open is played on. It may be worse than Oakmont before its over and if they get the wind and the rain they say usually plagues the course this time of year, it will be bad.

Wow, that one is a monster. That could make things interesting. Still, I hope he wins. I think I'm one of the few tiger fans around here. I'm not sure why but most of my buddies can't stand him.

Help me understand why yourself and so many others don't like him. I've seen several interviews and he seems like a really nice guy. He has a tremendous respect for the game and it's legends. I think he's really been good for the game.

For one thing is that he doesnt respect the game. Calling Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus by their first name your first day on the tour shows lack of respect. Thats just how I was raised.

Walking around a golf course with an entourage as big as Elvis' is #2.

Having your caddie shatter peoples cameras isnt alright with me either. Your not suppose to have a camera during tournament play and thats well and fine but Tiger and his cronies have no right to do the policing.

And guess who got the rule for caddies wearing shorts changed? Thats right, Tiger. Stevie ( his caddy ) wanted to wear shorts and the commish said no and Tiger said well then if you dont I'll just go to Europe and play over there. So the commish and his infinite wisdom said on second thought the caddies can wear shorts. Thats just too much power for one golfer to have over an entire ruling body. Sorry....you asked.

Haha, great rant from Mike Greenberg this morning on Mike and Mike.

He was talking about how on a lot of other sports talk radio shows how everyone was saying Tiger is losing something, no longer on the top of the world. Basing this off just the Masters and US Open. And Greenberg was like, look at the last four majors. 1st in the British and PGA last year. 2nd in the Masters and Open this year. Add that up, thats 6. Then he was saying go look it up, and find one player that is even close to 12 in the last four majors, half of what Tiger has done.

Tiger kind of set himself up for those kind of remarks though since he set the bar so high. But sometimes we just need to step back and realize just how good this guy is. Even if he isn't winning every single event, because lets face it, the sport isn't set up that way. You don't win them all.

When you own your sport as much as he does his, you would have that kind of power too.

Thats just it, its not HIS sport. Tigers just a part of it. Thats the whole problem with his persona. The PGA as a whole looks at him like their meal ticket and kiss his ass to keep him happy and thats not right. A little FYI...Tiger is actually thinking of starting his own tour because he feels like the PGA makes more of his name than they should. Like the guy doesn't have enough money.

Seppeh

its not HIS sport..

Yeah................. right.

He is far and away the best player on the tour, it isn't even close.

I agree with Seppeh on this one. Tiger has done way more for the PGA than the PGA has done for him. Sure, no one on these boards will ever come close to the money he has, but is it fair for us to say that he has enough and shouldn't be trying to make more? I once was a Tiger hater, then I realized how much work and dedication he puts into making himself better. It's still fun to watch him blade a chip 20 yards past the hole though.

crimsonnation713

Yeah................. right.

He is far and away the best player on the tour, it isn't even close.

So what your saying is he has the right to dictate and enforce HIS rules and blackmail the PGA into doing what he wants. I'm not saying he isn't the best because he is, but I'm saying he has no right to run things and thats what I feel he tries to do.
