Anyone watching the first ever televised MLB draft today on ESPN?

Braves take High School outfielder Jason Heyward with the 14th overall pick. He is being compared to a Fred McGriff/Frank Thomas type player. He is also from Georgia, and the Braves have had great success with home state players. Francoeur, McCann, Davies to name a few. He looked like a straight up thug in his picture on espn2 though. Hope he isn't like that.

So Major League Baseball doesn't have a problem snapping up players fresh out of high school, and the NBA relunctantly does it sometimes, whats the NFL's problem?

NBA don't do it anymore.

And not every MLB kid drafted from HS goes pro. Some go to college.

My friend's cousin went to the Twins in the first round. Revere from LexCath...check it out.

I have two friends that went in the draft. Drew Cumberland 46th to the Padres and Caleb Gindl 151st to the Brewers.
