Coaches Hot Seat Ranking (http://coacheshotseat.com/CoachesHotSeatRanking.htm)
Nutt has probably got to win 8 to keep his job. 10 years in the SEC is the second longest of any SEC coach. Coaches are hired to be fired and coach Nutt has held on longer than most. I think Arkansas will win 10. I dont see coach Nutt leaving unless he chooses to leave which is more likely the case.

Well, I can relate to this situation.
My nuts were once on a hot seat and let me tell you, buddy, that was really uncomfortable.

I would fire him tomorrow if I were the AD. Surely, arky could find someone better to direct McFadden downfield.

I see it this way;
1. He has another sub par season (8 or less wins) and his butt is shoved out the door one way or another.
2. He has a good season (9 or 10 wins) and he finds the first train out of here to a decent job.
Only with #2 is that he won 10 games last year at a supposedly "lesser" programs and still had ZERO programs contact him for a job. He initiated contacted according to the FOIA, he contact Miami, Alabama, and NC State. Must means something when he had to contact them.

I guess some people just enjoy making stuff up. I guess you know no one contacted him and that the text messages were all about him wanting their job and not about players, assistants, future assistants and such and that he made first contact. LOL

Y'know, people don't like him because he had a pair of lossing seasons.
Now what will happen to his popularity if he gets another pair of winning seasons? Will he still be on the hot seat until he wins an SECCG or a NC?
It's deffinately going to be an interesting season, but the post season of '08 may be more so.

I agree, people were agitated with the 2 bad seasons but Nutt predicted those due to the problems in recruiting because of probation problems. But the hatred for him mostly comes from the Springdale people and the problems they brought to the program.

I lost my support like many others after the 2003 season. I feel like that team as a whole was just as good if not better than this last one and there was an utter breakdown of coaching at points on both sides of the ball.

I'll throw this out there, since it is speculation at this point whether or not he's fired. If he indeed is fired, who hires him? Does he take a head coach role at a smaller school? Coordinator position?

Tennessee will hire him.

Well everyone has seen what he can do with a small recruiting base, you would only think if he had the budget and recruiting classes that Tennessee has had that he would be very successful. I dont think he will have any problem with finding a job. Both Nebraska and LSU offered the position to him and he didnt take it. Hopefully we wont have to find out.

Well if he was looking, who could blame him with the crap he has to put up with from NW Arkansas.

Nutt would win 11 games with 10RCs talent. Phatty will win 7 or 8 this year.

Having just moved to LR from NWA I didn't realize that most of the critisims for Nutt were coming from NWA. I thought the feelings were just as mixed there as it was anywhere else.
Yeah, the Springdale thing was really botched, but I don't think they would have made that much of an impact. That's just not the Hogs style of play right now.

I think he will. Alot of fans are upset with him right now and rightfully so.
Yall just keep telling everybody that its "only a small group in NWA" and maybe folks that dont know any better will start believing it someday.
To sat the Springdale thing was botched is an understatement.

Hahaha, that's what a lot of these people don't understand. Most of them seem to think that Butch Davis is sitting on the edge of his seat waiting for the job to come open so he can come back.
More than likely we'd end up with some assistant coach.

All I know is McFadden better stay healthy. If not, Coach Nutt will be a roasted nut.
