I think the SEC is too balanced top to bottom this year to have a legitimate National Title contender. At this point, I would have to say either the PAC-10 (USC) or the Big 10 (Michigan).

UNLESS...a SEC team makes it to the title game. They don't have to be number 1 going in, or even undefeated. All they have to do is make the game, and they will blast the PAC-10 or Big-10.

If a team from the SEC does make it all the way, IMO it'll be UT or LSU.

That's right, BP. We Vols have a much more realistic view of our football team then you Bammers. Delusion is best left to those with practice. Disappointment is part of your nature as a Bama fan. You're used to it. One things for absolute certain, our record will be better than yours this year. We have the talent to compete for an SECC. You don't have the talent to compete with UT.

No matter what I say I will never convince any of you that the top tier teams from the Pac 10, Big 12, or Big 10 can compete with anyone in the SEC. :brick:
I am going to list my national title favorites by conference. And listed the percentile that they will win it all IMO.
SEC - LSU 80%
Big 10 - Michigan 80% Wisconsin and Ohio State only two tough opponents
Pac 10 - Southern Cal 90% ESPN would love this
Big 12 - Texas 50%
Big East - West Virginia 85% Please someone play defense and put 8 guys in the box.
WAC - Hawaii 20% Super pansy conference. Brennan will put up 5,000 yds.
ACC - Miami 40%

No, Colt McCoy will be really good this year but I don't think Texas has quite reloaded just yet and I don't think that they would stand up againist LSU, Michigan, or So Cal this year.

i agree with 50%. they should've won the big 12 last year but choked vs TAM. they had the most talent in the big 12 but went as far as Colt took them.

Unfortunately I think we could end up seeing a USC/WV Title game. They may not necessarily be the two best teams in the country, but they probably stand the best chance at finishing undefeated because their conferences are not as strong as the SEC and Big Ten.

WVU, or no BE team for that fact will go undefeated. Im getting sick of people saying this. Neither WVU, Louisville, or Rutgers is good enough to go 2-0 vs the other two. They will slip up atleast once. And South Florida could also upset one or two of them. Getting through the Big East unbeaten, not likely.

I'm not saying that they'll for sure go undefeated, just that they have a better chance than an SEC or Big Ten team does. I still think it's very possible for a one-loss SEC team to play for it all just like last year, but it will be more difficult for them to make it there than it will be for a team like West Va or USC. Just my honest thoughts.

WVU is far and away the best team in that conference this year. They can easily get through their cupcake schedule undefeated. If Brohm stays healthy they can keep up with WVU for a little while, but this is the only game they have to get up for. It's absurd to "get sick of" people saying a Big East team will go undefeated. This conference is even weaker than the Pac-10.

A little while? I see no reason why Louisville cant beat them. Sure they still have White and Slaton, but Louisville still has Brohm, Douglas, Mario and Stripling. Louisville can hang with them offensively, defense will be the question, but I dont believe one has a major advantage over the other.

I understand the thinking that it's going to be difficult for an SEC team to make it through their SEC schedule and make it to the NC game, but we know it's very possible (even with one loss- ex. LSU, FL). With that said, I'm sticking with the SEC taking it all this year. . . again! Auburn, Florida, LSU and Tennessee all have a good chance at holding up the NC trophy in January 2008.

You can talk about whatever you wish, Seppeh. But if you're going to quote history, quote it accurately. It's 11 out of 16 we've won. Funny that that's not dominance, but Richt's 4 vs. Fulmer's 2 is when it supports your argument.

Langham caused the Crimson Tide to forfeit most of the 1993 season and suffer NCAA sanctions by secretly signing with an agent during the previous offseason. You play by the rules or you suffer the consequences.
