I just heard a live interview with Kobe Bryant via 680 the fan Atlanta. He stated that he has had enough of the Laker front office and has demanded to be traded. This happened only minutes ago! I dont follow the NBA much but this was quite a shock to me.
I wonder where Bryant will end up now?

This was actually talked about on Sportscenter last night. He has been unhappy there for a while. He needs to start his own city, so he can start his own franchise and be the only player. That's the only way to make him happy. The freaking playoffs are going on, and this guy's upset that he's not getting enough attention. He's trash.

Well IMO most all NBA players are like that. It took only minutes for this to make the front page of ESPN.

The word has been he's headed to Chicago. Which sucks. Because I have respect for the Bulls.

Oh yeah ofcourse cause Kobe Bryant is an absolute loser who can't play basketball worth crap, is that why you will lose respect for the Bulls. Kobe is a talented and respected player. He has has noone around him to help him take the team to the next level. Kobe gets blamed for Shaq leaving and you know what he has had enough of that and I can see why he wants to leave. He will be a better player than Shaq when it is all said and done. He is the best offensive player in the history of the NBA.

Shaq won titles before and after he was w/Kobe. Kobe hasn't done crap w/out Shaq. I don't even care about that, but those are facts. And he already is a better player than Shaq, if you can compare the two at different positions anyway.
W/that said, I don't like Kobe. Tough beans. You apparently are smitten w/him. Please don't make false accusations against him or we'll have to go through that whole thing again

I'd like to see Kobe wind up in Orlando. What a rivalry that would be with Shaq and friends in Miami

Are Orlando and Miami big enough NBA markets to change the league ratings? I doubt it. If the league had good teams in Boston/New York/Chicago, I think that'd help, but Orlando is a very small sports market.

Well the Shaq vs Kobe thing would help. Both teams have a good shot at the playoffs next year.(I think)
I at least hope he winds up in the eastern conference.
Wouldnt he look great in a hawks uni though?

Bad week for Buss. Busted for a DUI on Tuesday, Wednesday the best player in the league says he doesn't want to play for you anymore.

You're an idiot. I'm still looking for the point in his post where he said Kobe couldn't play.

Being able to play and garnering respect are two very different things.

I don't believe it! We agree on something related to basketball. KoMe is too selfish to accomplish the same things as the other greats. I don't think he had anything to do with Shaq leaving. Shaq just said so on ESPN. The owner (Jerry Buss) simply wasn't going to pay Shaq's $30 million salary.

I also noticed that somebody misinterpreted a quote supposedly from KoMe. The quote referring to KoMe being a Laker for life was made by Buss, who said, "We thought KoMe would be a Laker for life, and have tried to build a team around him." That's not true, of course; because that's why he wants a trade. Buss also said Bryant hasn't formally asked Buss for a trade, but that he was aware of the media reports, and would be talking with KoMe in the very near future.

Bad week for Buss, after getting arrested for DUI on Tuesday morning. Wonder if he was drowning his sorrows.:alcohol: :barf: :coffeedri

I got my remarks from this on ESPN.com:

Hours after Kobe Bryant asked for a trade on Stephen A. Smith's radio show, he backed off after speaking to Phil Jackson and told Dan Patrick he wants to be a Laker for life.

That's pretty bad. I was just listening to the man live on ESPN on television, and he said the Lakers know what they did, and that they broke promises. I'm only guessing about the promises, but I suspect they involved getting him some decent players to help out. He must not be happy with the "team building" that Buss said he'd do. He said he just wants them to do the right thing, and trade him. I don't know which interview came last, but this was about 5:00 or 5:30 E.T.
