Doug Flutie
Dondrial Pinkins runs a close second though. Jenkins should've been a LB, and Pinkins should've been a fullback....

For a QB, he turned out to be be a decent baseball player though. In his defense his supporting cast sucked as well.

Yeah, gotta agree with Guillon. I think you could throw Freddie Kitchens in there too.

I have to agree with you. Although he had his shining moments like in the Cotton bowl over Tex A&M and the '05 LSU game. He was without a doubt the least talented as far as speed and arm strength but he had some heart.

True, but our 2005 record would've been drastically different if we had Ainge under center the whole time. Clausen just didn't have the ability to play quarterback in the SEC and Ainge never got into a rhythm.

Yeah, gotta agree with Guillon. I think you could throw Freddie Kitchens in there too.Kitchens never gets his due. Think about it. When he was QB, everybody in the stadium knew when we were going to pass, and he STILL racked up some impressive numbers. I'd have to go with Guillion or Pennington, probably leaning towards Guillion because of his crappy attitude.

I don't know about that!! The Vols invented new ways to lose each week that season and Ainge was a complete head case...just re-watch the first half of the LSU game from that season. What Clausen (Rick) lacked in skills, he had a pretty good head on his shoulders and he usually, at the very least, wouldn't make the "big" mistake.
That said, if Rick Clausen was the worst, that makes Ainge a VERY close second. I know I'm gonna "ruffle some feathers", but I think Ainge is one of the most over-rated players in Knoxville in some time. I just don't think he's as good as his numbers indicate. He lacks that "it" that separates the good QBs from the great.

Anyone who took a snap the last couple of years for the Rebels.

Gabe Gross - Milwaukee Brewers - MLB - Yahoo! Sports (http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/players/7077)
The thing I can't stand about Gross and Cobb is that they were involved in QB controversies with guys who proved to be much more capable in the long run. We'd would have been better off if Gabe had kept his RBI machine at plainsman park instead of.. well.. you know:brick: .

I can't remember all the ****ty QBs Nutt put on the field during the 2000 and 2001, but most of them qualify here.
1990 was Quin Grovey and he was a good one. After him Jason Allen was bad, but he can blame those around him. Next four years was Barry Lunney Jr. who, even though some questions about his HS career at Southside, was a very acceptable four-year starter. Next was some Burk guy who was alright. After Burk, Clint Stoerner was pretty darn good.
After Clint Stoerner, you have to question Nutt's ability to recruit QBs. Like I previously said, 2000 and 2001 was awful and you can make the case for any of them. Through 2004, you had Matt Jones who wasn't a great passer but was a very good QB. Robert Johnson was terrible in 2005, but Nutt's crappy a$$ coaching can be blamed and RoJo is a good WR currently. After him, you had Casey Dick finish the season. Nutt blamed them both in losing post-game press conferences.
Last year, Nutt tried RoJo again and he failed miserably only to be replaced by Mitch Mustain (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cRa3uv_lKwg). Mustain went 8-0 as a starter before being benched. Casey Dick came in and played remarkably bad as a starter outside of the Tennessee game.
Therefore, my vote goes for 2006 Casey Dick(Good freshman season. Lets hope for a good junior one.)or the 2000 QBs.

1. Jason Campbell
2. Damyeun Craig (I think i misspelt his name)
3. Stan White
4. Ben Leard
5. Brandon Cox
6. Gabe Gross/ Daniel Cobb

FYI- Stan White is AU's all time leader in passing yardage (8,016) as well as total offense (7,920). He did all this while playing three years for the high powered passing attack (hint of sarcasm) of Coach Dye. Now if that isn't #1, Hell I don't know who is. At least JC had a prefect season! That's right Stan did too.

3. Dameyune Craig (Spelled perfectly)

For the Gators...since 1990:
Shane Mathews
Terry Dean
Danny Wuerrfel
Doug Johnson
Jesse Palmer
Rex Grossman
Ingle Martin
Chris Leak
HMMM....out of this list, Ingle Martin had the least success, although, he only started a couple of games before Leak took over as a freshman. Doug Johnson was the only one out of the group that never actually won an SEC Championship....but, he wasn't a bad QB.....hmmm...I guess I have to go with Ingle Martin.:headscrat

Michael Spurlock was not only the worst Quarterback to take a snap at Ole Miss but could be the worst QB in SEC history. Whenever he was on the field I never once felt like we could score. I remember he sat across from me in my Sociology class when I was a junior. One Monday after a terrible loss b/c of his ass; I saw him smile and laugh. I stood up and yelled to him "HOW CAN YOU LAUGH AFTER WHAT HAPPENED ON SATURDAY!!" My teacher kicked me out of the class but it was so worth it. I was expecting a backlash from the players; since we lived next door to a couple of O linemen; but they hated him as well.

As a full time starter, Freddie Kitchens. If you can't hit the broad side of a barn, it doesn't make any difference the velocity you have on the ball.

Actually, I think Kitchens would be doing good to hit the broad side of a barn. Broad side of BDS is more like it.

Yeah, Martin doesn't really qualify. I was racking my brain trying to think of a lousy QB; and we just don't have one... at least not from the time of Spurrier on. The man is a QB producing machine, as long as he's got something to work with. And, ever since then, good QB's have flocked to UF because of our style of play. Zook almost ruined it with his run-first mentality; but, Leak picked us anyway. Thankfully, Meyer came along and helped Leak fulfill his promise out of high school, to bring another NC to Gainesville. All of our guys have an SECC, a NC, or have been in the NFL. Some have all 3. Oh well. That's not a bad problem to have. If Auburn is RBU, then Florida is definitely QBU... at least in the SEC.

If a team could've built an offense around Wuerffel, I believe he would have done well in the NFL. When Wuerffel went to Europe...forget what team he played for...think it was a German team, anyway, Galen Hall was his coach and he basically built a team around Danny.....and they won the Championship. I know the NFL is waaayyy better...but I think he would have been successful had a team designed an offense around his passing talents...which I think SOS was attempting to do at Washington...

I would guess a fair amount. I see some at bars when I go to watch the games that aren't on locally.
There apparently is enough though to have the Titans Radio Network with an affiliate here in Birmingham. That is great, so I can listen to the games if I can go somewhere to watch them.

We're talking about good at your respective college. If your QB made it to the NFL, he was probably pretty good at your school. We're not talking about great in the NFL. And, as a Shane Matthews fan, I'll say the Redskins were just terrible. Matthews had some good years for other teams. Can't blame the QB for all the team's problems. UF has had some pretty good years since 1990, so we won't have any terrible QB's.
