:brick: Reshad Jones should be Starting. Knowshon Moreno is the real deal too. 55 points in what ostensibly is half a game, requires serious look at no name defensive players who tackle only downfield after long gains such as Brandon Miller, Kelin Johnson and the Defensive Line who find themselves Starting by Seniority over these more deserving players behind them on the Depth Chart. I like Mohamed Massaquoi in the slot.
OL, QBs, FB, Receivers, and RBs did well. It was great to see Hines Ward and David Pollack.
Competing in The SEC is far tougher than competing in The ACC or Big Ten (11), and requires our best players are the ones getting the majority of the reps. In football, as it was in men's basketball where The SEC had 9 of the Top 59 in the Final RPI Rankings for the season updated 5 April 2007 to the Big Ten (11) who had 7 of the Top 97 by comparison, it is imperative that we have the kind of defense we have grown accustomed to in the Coach Richt Era. There were 6 SEC Teams in the Final AP Poll in football to only 4 Big Ten (11) and Georgia made it for the 10th Consecutive Year in a Row in the Final AP Poll not otherwise accomplished by any other Program in America. When The SEC has the National Champions in both Football and Men's Basketball, clearly we cannot just play players who know what to do - but, who make plays . Put Reshad Jones in the Starting Line-up, and give Knowshon Moreno the carries Danny Ware would have gotten.

So all in all, it was a good GDay game for the Dawgs? Watch out SEC East, especially UF. UGA seems like they are on the rise to steal the crown out from under the Gators in 2007. That might be a stretch, but it's possible. 2008 is most likely UGA's year in the East because UF is still strong and loaded and had the best recruiting class overall for 2007.

Actually, if there is gonna be any dropoff for Florida it is gonna be this year. This year we only have 7 seniors and 8 juniors. That means a lot of playing time for the younger guys. Tebow will have a year under center and will be back fro 2008 along with Percy Harvin. The defense should stay intact and will be ferocious by 2008. I can't say I really expect us to win the SEC East this year. That should be our goal but I won't be extremely disappointed if we don't reach it. 2008 and 2009 should be some of the best Florida Gator football in a while.

Interesting. When I say that, I sound bitter. When a Gator says it, it's realistic.
I really am looking forward to the Cocktail Party in 2008.

2007 World's Largest Cocktail Party will witness Florida's Offense, like everyone else will this year too, light up our Defense if we continue to play the same players as Starters who have never done a thing for us but get lit up such as specifically no-name "starter at MLB" Brandon Miller instead of any of our other linebackers instead for him and such as specifically "starting strong safety" Kelin Johnson instead of Reshad Jones at strong safety. Both of them will be gone in 2008; but I just find it hard to imagine that anyone sees those two better than the ones behind them in making plays.
I can appreciate that Akeem Dent and Akeem Hebron are both better than Brandon Miller at SAM linebacker, so he lost that job to them both.
But, Darius Dewberry and Dannell Ellerbe are both better than Brandon Miller at WILL linebacker than Brandon Miller as well.
The bottom line is that there are 4 better linebackers than Brandon Miller, because he just never caught on to the linebacker position. We have been carrying Brandon Miller too long, when he has not gotten after it once yet. Not one play ever.
Determining Kelin Johnson is better than Reshad Jones at Strong Safety for this then throw-away season again this year like we did last year losing for the 14th time in the last 16 years to Florida at the Gator Bowl because some fans want to drive down there 45 minutes from Gainesville, losing to Kentucky and losing to Vandie and losing to the vols as well, is like determining that Matthew Stafford was ready to start last season for us as well, giving up his 5th Year Redshirt Senior All-America year for 23 miscues (10 fumbles 6 lost to his 3 rushing TD) and 13 interceptions (to his only 7 TD passes).
How many rebuilding years in a row do we have to suffer through with the Average Top 5 Recruiting Class Coach Richt has had 6 years in a row ?
I mean look at what we saw Saturday ?
Matthew Stafford carrying the football in the same exact manner as he did as a true frosh last season. Matthew Stafford's near interception by Reshad Jones, etc.
Were it not for Knowshon Moreno and Reshad Jones, the G-Day Game would have been a bust for UGA fans, except for the great OL play.
The Defense is too weak starting 2 players because they are seniors who have never done a bloody thing for us ever.
And, we continue to put that defense in a sorry situation with fumbles and interceptions along with an abject lack of TD passes to stretch the field.
We are not ready for the Gator Bowl Game this year, 2007.
Are we Bulldog fans talking about 2008 ?
Is this what we learned Saturday ?
