My predictions..
Sept. 1, 2007 at Memphis......WIN
Sept. 8, 2007 Missouri.......LOSS
Sept. 15, 2007 at Vanderbilt...........WIN
Sept. 22, 2007 Florida ........LOSS, but closer than you would think
Sept. 29, 2007 at Georgia............LOSS
Oct. 6, 2007 Louisiana Tech......WIN
Oct. 13, 2007 Alabama........Toss-up
Oct. 20, 2007 Arkansas........LOSS
Oct. 27, 2007 at Auburn.............LOSS
Nov. 3, 2007 Northwestern St.........WIN
Nov. 17, 2007 LSU.........LOSS
Nov. 24, 2007 at Miss. State..........Toss-up, although I think State wins a close one at home.
Overall, 4-6 with 2 "toss-up" games with Alabama in Mississippi State. They win one of their toss-ups for sure, and I'm going out on a limb with this one but I think they finish what they started in 2006 and upset LSU.
I'll say 5-7 for the sake of picking an average.

@ Vandy - Win, 3rd straight win for the Rebs.
Vs. UF - Loss, Urban Meyer gives Ole Miss their first big test, OM fails.
@ UGA - Loss, A one TD game. Ole Miss plays their hearts out.
Vs. LA Tech - Win, 4-6 in the first six games.
Vs. Alabama - LOSS, Alabama wins big, Ole Miss flops.
Vs. Arkansas - Loss, A Close one in front of the home crowd.
@ Auburn - Loss, AU underestimates OM. But the Rebs still lose.
Vs. NW St. - Win, A breather game before playing the Bayou Bengals.
Vs. LSU - Loss, Not nearly as close as last season's nail-biter.

Sept. 1, 2007 at Memphis Win
Sept. 8, 2007 Missouri Win (real close one)
Sept. 15, 2007 at Vanderbilt Win (closer than expected)
Sept. 22, 2007 Florida Win (believe it or not, the spread won't work this year as Tebow will make too many mistakes and UF won't have anyone to break through that Ole Miss O-line that has finally molded. Schaffer(sp?) will have a great game picking the Defense apart)
Sept. 29, 2007 at Georgia Loss ( a real close one but Athens puts too much pressure on the rebels)
Oct. 6, 2007 Louisiana Tech Win
Oct. 13, 2007 Alabama Win (Saban's team just isn't ready yet)
Oct. 20, 2007 Arkansas Win (too many off season problems for Nutt, Mcfadden has a great day, but not good enough)
Oct. 27, 2007 at Auburn Loss (bad upset, Ole Miss can't hang)
Nov. 3, 2007 Northwestern St. Win (close one though)
Nov. 17, 2007 LSU Loss (LSU is too good by this time)
Nov. 24, 2007 at Miss. State Win (Sly Croom gets fired after a devastating loss to the rebels.)
9-3, wow did I say that? yep, looks like I'm changing my rankings.

In some ways we are very much like MSU and in other ways we are the opposite. We are different in that I was having trouble finding more than two wins for MSU and even one of those (Tulane) I would rate as a toss-up. I don't believe that we will have much trouble with the four winners that I have picked (NWSU, LTU, MSU, MEM) and I think Vandy is a toss up primarily because it is in Nashville.
The toughest thing for CEO will be the fact that Mizzou and UFL are our first two home games this year. It could well be that there is not a home win until LTU comes to town in October. We will also be either 1 - 4 or 2-3 at that point. The only real upset possibilities that I see are ARK and ALA at home. I am sure we will play LSUx close at home, but I am not ready to believe we will prevail.
I think that 6-6 is possible with a win at Vandy and an upset of either Arky or Bama. 5-7 is more realistic. 4-8 is most likely.
Orgeron is on the hot seat, but stays for one more year if he wins four.

The 2007 Ole Miss football team will be one that doesn't make sense. They'll win some their not suppose to win, and then turn around and lose a couple their not suppose to lose. Tough season ahead.
Sept. 1, 2007 at Memphis W (Ole Miss takes advantage of Tigers lack of talent and look like a top 20 team)
Sept. 8, 2007 Missouri L (Reality hits Ole Miss as these Tigers from Missouri destroy the Rebels in the second half.)
Sept. 15, 2007 at Vanderbilt W (Vandy special - Rebels win in OT)
Sept. 22, 2007 Florida L (Gator put in second string by the third quarter)
Sept. 29, 2007 at Georgia W (first of two Rebel upsets for 2007 - Ole Miss takes advantage of flat Bulldogs and win in a game filled with INT's.)
Oct. 6, 2007 Louisiana Tech W (Dooley's bunch just can't match up with the Rebel's talent - Rebels in big big win)
Oct. 13, 2007 Alabama L (Ole Miss plays Bama toe to toe for all four quarters, but the Tide recover a fumble on their own twenty with two minutes left. Saban is hacked off and storming the sidelines in disgust with his players the whole second half.)
Oct. 20, 2007 Arkansas L (The Rebels, disappointed from the Bama lose, come out uninspired and lay a egg. Arky blow out.)
Oct. 27, 2007 at Auburn W (second of two Rebels upsets in 2007 - Cajun coach has his guys fired up and the Eagles are still reeling from their loss the week before in Baton Rouge. Ole Miss takes advantage of refs blown call on the last play of the game.)
Nov. 3, 2007 Northwestern St. W (all Rebels from the opening kickoff - ugly game)
Nov. 17, 2007 LSU L (Rebels come in thinking 2006 all over again, but Bayou Bengals come ready to play in 2007 - all LSU).
Nov. 24, 2007 at Miss. State L (MSU messes up the Rebels bowl picture with an upset win. Bulldogs by a field goal with time running out.)
The Rebels end the season 6-6 and miss out on another bowl. A two game improvement over the year before, but the Rebel fans are in an uproar and ready for "another" change. The fortunes of the Rebels almost bring tears to the LSU fans: NOT!

I don't expect too much against Auburn, because they are a real football team. But why would Mississippi State have any trouble beating a team like Alabama. I know that bama played their heart out last year but it just wasn't enough. Alabama is the laughing stock of the SEC to everyone but the crimson tide faithful. At least State and Ole Miss fans accept the fact that we aren't good.
Just in case you forgot, Alabama beat a pretty bad Ole Miss team by 3 at home, with some questionable officiating. And against a god awful Mississippi State team...what happened? Oh yes I think the final was something like 24-16. UAB put up more of a fight then the tide.

First of all, I was talking about Ole Miss not being able to beat AU this season at AU. And yes, I said that the state of Alabama would own the state of Mississippi. What's wrong with pulling for my team to beat your team? Should I root for MSU because you disagreed with my post?
Fine. Go MSU BULLDOGS! Now I'm off to Bubba's Cowbell's and Tractor Supplies to purchase a cowbell.
Second, Alabama is going to be a whole lot tougher in 2007 than they were in 2006 when Mike "I Forgot How To Score In The Redzone" Shula was still coach. Notice, Bama scored quite a bit in the redzone in their bowl game loss against OK State, AFTER MIKE SHULA WAS FIRED!
Reach down the back of your shorts and pull your panties out of a wad. Alabama isn't the laughing stock of the SEC because they've had a few bad years in the last decade. MSU is pretty laughable because they usually only have one good season every decade or so.
As to why MSU would not having any problem beating Alabama, that was one year under a coach who had 4-9, 6-6, 10-2, 6-7 records over a four year span. Come on genius. We've got CNS now. Having a high caliber coach for 2007 makes all the difference in the world, especially compared to Mike Shula.
Please re-read my original post for clarification. If you wanted to talk about Bama/MSU, you should have posted in AU Blaaaaaaaake's Predict Their Season: Mississippi State thread.
One upset win over an Alabama team who hasn't been spectacular and all the sudden the Alabama Crimson Tide is just as beatable as the Maine Black Bears. Oh wait, MSU lost to Maine didn't they?

Wouldn't that bode even worse for the crimson tide? I mean how far do you have to fall before you can barelly beat or lose to the worst team in the SEC (who is regularly challenged by lower level D1/D2 schools).
And just check around the league... Most fans would agree with me. And you're argument of "Mississippi being redneckish" only leads me to question any credibility that you have, because obviously you've got your head too far up CNS ass to realize that even the high and mighty Alabama has people how chose to live there life like that. So when you bring up that argument it makes me reailze that you are trying to make yourself feel better by thinking that I live on a farm and wear a cowbell around my kneck, while riding my tractor to the local feed mill. Because that is all there is in Mississippi.

First of all Master of Spin, I never said the state of Mississippi was "redneckish". :glare: I just made up a company name. I was going to call it Carl's Strap-On and Cowbell Emporium which would suggest that all Mississippians were perverted kinky freaks who farm, but I didn't know how the Admin would react to such an accusation. BTW, a couple of my uncles in Indiana are farmers and own combines, tractors, bush hogs, etc. Mississippian's being rednecks was never the case. I never suggested it such a thing, you paranoid goof. It was all in your head. I assume that you assume that when I used the name "Bubba", I was insinuating that you and all folks from Mississippi were rednecks.
I said Maine beat MSWho. They did. Alabama lost to MSWho. I can acknowledge that. But Alabama lost to MSWho in 2006. That hardly translates to this coming season. UGA lost to Vandy in 2006. I suppose that doesn't bode well for the REAL Bulldogs of Athens. I assume that Vandy has UGA's number in 2007 and the coming years now, huh?
BTW, CNS is from the West Virginia. The state at the brunt of roughly half of all inbreeding jokes. I can deal with that if you can deal with the fact that your head coach played for the Crimson Tide.

5-6 with a toss up.
* Mizzou graduated a pile of people. Their faithful are calling us 'soft'. Coach O knows how bad this game made him look last year. We've got them at home. This is my homer pick for the year - we beat Mizzou handily at home and return the favor they did for us last year.
** Okay, another slight homer pick. Vandy will be tough. I wouldn't argue with anyone calling it a toss-up.
*** No Ole Miss or State fan that is even remotely honest can call this a win or loss. It's always a tough game, and both programs are in pretty bad shape right now. It's a toss up, in the purest sense of the word.

I chose to abstain from my team as to not skew the results. Because I would obvioulsy have MissSt going 12-0 and winning the SEC, but then I might get banned for slander and propaganda.

I think Bama fans are still a little upset that they lost to MSU last year. As for Ole Miss, I could see them losing their first 5 games. I could also see them starting out 3-2. Tough to read this team. Lost 2 absolute studs on defense. If they can't stop people they won't be able to win many games seeing how they definatly don't have an explosive offense.
