So far after taking the "average" prediction on Vandy's season we have..

SEC East-
Vanderbilt 5-7

SEC West-

Today we pick Mississippi State. Here's the schedule, with home games in bold.

Aug. 30, 2007----LSU
Sept. 8, 2007-------at Tulane
Sept. 15, 2007-------at Auburn
Sept. 22, 2007-----Jacksonville St.
Sept. 29, 2007--------- at South Carolina
Oct. 6, 2007---------UAB
Oct. 13, 2007---------Tennessee
Oct. 20, 2007----------at West Virginia
Oct. 27, 2007----------at Kentucky
Nov. 10, 2007---------Alabama
Nov. 17, 2007---------at Arkansas1
Nov. 24, 2007---------Ole Miss

Aug. 30, 2007----LSU .........Loss, and it isn't a close game
Sept. 8, 2007-------at Tulane........Win.. I hope.
Sept. 15, 2007-------at Auburn......Loss, no closer than last year
Sept. 22, 2007-----Jacksonville St......Win
Sept. 29, 2007--------- at South Carolina......Loss
Oct. 6, 2007---------UAB.....Win
Oct. 13, 2007---------Tennessee......Loss
Oct. 20, 2007----------at West Virginia.....Big time loss, WVU will be really good.
Oct. 27, 2007----------at Kentucky.....Close game, but a loss
Nov. 10, 2007---------Alabama......This one is tricky, simply because these bulldogs on the 2007 roster know they have the ability to beatdown Bama. I'm calling this one now as a WIN for the Bullys and its Saban's "UAB loss" for the season.
Nov. 17, 2007---------at Arkansas.... Loss
Nov. 24, 2007---------Ole Miss.....Win, but a very close egg bowl.

Thats 5-7.. with possible toss-ups with Kentucky, Ole Miss and Alabama (being a loss instead of a win). I'll leave my guess at 5-7, 6-6 at best, 3-9 at worst.

Aug. 30, 2007----LSU
State Will Win Sept. 8, 2007-------at Tulane
Sept. 15, 2007-------at Auburn
State Will Win Sept. 22, 2007-----Jacksonville St.
Sept. 29, 2007--------- at South Carolina
State Will Win Oct. 6, 2007---------UAB
Oct. 13, 2007---------Tennessee
Oct. 20, 2007----------at West Virginia
Oct. 27, 2007----------at Kentucky
Nov. 10, 2007---------Alabama
Nov. 17, 2007---------at Arkansas
Nov. 24, 2007---------Ole Miss

3-9 And the beginning of the end of the Croom era. Either this year or next.

(L) Aug. 30, 2007----LSU --not a very good way to start season...0-1 and a blowout
(W) Sept. 8, 2007--- at Tulane --tough overtime victory for MSU
(L) Sept. 15, 2007---at Auburn --bulldogs will be 1-2 after this blowout
(W) Sept. 22, 2007---Jacksonville St. --comfortable win in starkville
(L) Sept. 29, 2007----at South Carolina --MSU will hang tough for the 1st half then USC will pull away
(W) Oct. 6, 2007-----UAB --another comfortable win to improve to 3-3
(L) Oct. 13, 2007-----Tennessee --like the USC game...MSU will hang for a while but won't be able to win
(L) Oct. 20, 2007-----at West Virginia --loss
(L) Oct. 27, 2007-----at Kentucky --this one will be a hard fought (possible OT) battle but Cats win it
(L) Nov. 10, 2007-----Alabama --Bama by 10
(L) Nov. 17, 2007-----at Arkansas --Darren, your heisman awaits
(W) Nov. 24, 2007----Ole Miss --I say State wins by 3, protecting Croom's job for one more year

4-8 ending for the 07' Bulldogs...if they can somehow pull out the Kentucky win and upset one of the other elite teams in the SEC (Bama, Auburn, Arky, Carolina, etc.) they just might become bowl eligible.

This is a tough one for me as Miss. State is probably the one I know least about. But I do know that they are having some trouble at the QB and WR positions and that they just had a transfer at tailback from Tulane.

Aug. 30, 2007----LSU LOSS
Sept. 8, 2007-------at Tulane toss up
Sept. 15, 2007-------at Auburn LOSS
Sept. 22, 2007-----Jacksonville St. toss up
Sept. 29, 2007--------- at South Carolina LOSS
Oct. 6, 2007---------UAB toss up
Oct. 13, 2007---------Tennessee LOSS
Oct. 20, 2007----------at West Virginia LOSS
Oct. 27, 2007----------at Kentucky LOSS
Nov. 10, 2007---------Alabama LOSS
Nov. 17, 2007---------at Arkansas1 LOSS
Nov. 24, 2007---------Ole Miss LOSS

3-9 is my prediction. No offense to put any points on the board isn't going to win games. At best they could go 4-8. Sly Croom gets the boot after this season.

7-5, but then again I'm a bigger homer than Geaux.

Vs. LSU - Loss, Closer than expected? No amount of Cowbells will help the Dogs win.
@ Tulane - Win, But a Close one.
@ AU - Loss, If it was in Starkville it could be closer, but it's not.
Vs. Jackson State - Win, MSU gets one win closer to being bowl eligible.
@ SC - Loss, The Cocks and Blake Mitchell will pass all day on the Bulldogs.
Vs. UAB - Win, I'd love to see a team from Alabama win, but UAB is a scrub.
Vs. UT - Loss, MSU plays their hearts out, but it's not good enough.
@ WVU - Loss, The Mountaineers have too much offensive firepower.
@ UK - T/O, I'm not sure about this game. Get back to me around week 5 or 6 of the season for a more accurate prediction.
Vs. Alabama - Loss, Alabama returns the favor in a big way in Starkville.
@ Arkansas - Loss, D-Mac and Casey Dick run wild, for the second half anyway. The first half will be close.
Vs. Ole Miss - Win, Vandy won't beat Ole Miss, but the Bulldogs will in Starkville.

4 wins, 1 T/O, 7 losses for the Bulldogs.

3-9 at worst, with wins against Tulane, Jacksonville St. and UAB. Possible upset games against Kentucky and Ole Miss, but unlikely. 3-9 at worst, 5-7 at best......

No matter what, this year will be one more year that the Slytanic continues to sink. We need a real coach, I think that Croom is a stand up man, and a very good guy, but in the way of coaching I've seen better at the local pee wee tournament. But maybe when we get a new AD he'll show Sylvester the door.

Because of what I am going to post, I want to qualify my prediction by saying that I do not think Ole Miss is much better than MSU and even though I think that they are a little better, there remains the possibility that they could sneak up and beat us. Having said that, I think that it is entirely possible that MSU will win only one game this year...Jacksonville St. I don't know enough about Tulane to forecast with any certainty, but I would think that MSU could easily be the team that Tulane has the best chance of beating. That being said, I would lean to a 2-10 record with an outside chance of 4-8.

Hell Yes!!! I did not realize MSU was on our schedule for 2007. This puts me in a good mood all of sudden. 1 more victory for Carolina this season. I could've sworn they were off the schedule though.........

I'm going to give you my picks and then look back and see what everyone else is saying. He we go for MSU. . . .

Aug. 30, 2007----LSU (all LSU in the second half) Bayou Tigers by three TDs
Sept. 8, 2007-------at Tulane (Tulane keeps it close for three quarter, MSU takes over in the forth quarter and wins by two touchdowns)

Sept. 22, 2007-----Jacksonville St. (MSU dominates all four quarters and takes out frustrations)
Sept. 29, 2007--------- at South Carolina (close game until the end, cocks wins by a TD)
Oct. 6, 2007---------UAB (close game to the end, but MSU pulls out victory by a field goal)
Oct. 13, 2007---------Tennessee (not even close - Vols by four TD's)
Oct. 20, 2007----------at West Virginia (MSU falls behind early and never able to catch up. WV by three TD's)
Oct. 27, 2007----------at Kentucky (Cats get shocked by the Bulldogs and put a wrench in Cats bowl possibilities. Bulldogs by two TD's)
Nov. 10, 2007---------Alabama (Bulldogs suprise an over confident Tide team, but it won't be enough. Tide by a field goal.)
Nov. 17, 2007---------at Arkansas1 (All Razorbacks. Arky by three TD's.)
Nov. 24, 2007---------Ole Miss (MSU messes up the Rebels bowl picture with an upset win. Bulldogs by a field goal with time running out.)

As much as I hate to say it, the only sure win and that's not even a gimmie is Jacksonville State.

I see MSU going 1-11-0 and the Croom era officially ends.

It would be well worth going 1-11 if that was enough to end the Croom era. I for one have seen enough of it. The last thing I want to see is 3 or 4 win season that is just good enough for Croom to hang around another year thus delaying us "starting over" for another year.

I agree 100% with this assessment. If a Homeless Tulane team can come to Starkville and beat us last year then there surely isn't any reason to think going to Tulane is an easy win for MSU this year.
